ya know, i thought of something to add-scientists are not perfect all knowing beings and their *theories* they think they have solid evidence to support their claims has been proven dead wrong in the past-and present, . the earth is flat-sun orbits the earth-the earth is 5,000 yrs old.....etc etc.

Is it a bad idea to try to limit the emissions that we know cause an increase in the climate? You say it's going to happen whether we like it or not, which I agree with, but what we're doing is increasing the speed at which it occurs, it might not happen in our lifetime, or in our kids lifetime, which makes this problem even more difficult to fix, but the point of no return for human emissions will be reached at one point, so shouldn't we try to curb the rate, if even a tiny bit? Who knows, maybe that extra bit that we prepare ourselves for now will give future generations the amount of time needed to come up with a valid solution at the time, should we ever have to actually leave the planet.

So you're dismissing those 32 international science academies data?

At least explain that.

Science comes along and fixes the problems. Science proved the Earth is round. Science proved the Earth orbits the Sun. Science proved the earth is 4.5 billion years old. It is the LACK of VALID SCIENTIFIC INQUIRY that leads people to believe false theories, not the other way around.

im saying this-in the past scientists have destroyed old long cherished theorys by new evidence since they didnt have enough info and made what they thought were educated guesses based on some info that was incomplete. just like you said.......100 yrs is absolutely nothing in terms of the earths cycles. how can you say after only 100 yrs of data its a total comphrehensive proven study for sure and that were causing it? greenhouse gas levels flucuate frequently throughout the last however many millions of years, as proven from ice cores. we didnt exist back then, i guess the dinosaurs must be responsible, they released all them gasses from their factories and then got eco-friendly, then mammals came along and re-polluted it and went green again, then we came along and........well, you should be able to understand by now i hope, we will find more even more info to disprove this theory of global warming.

where exactly did i say it was going to happen?

you are making things up.

"we are NOT in control. if we die we die. the earth will live on. it's not about us."

I might have misinterpreted that statement. I took it to mean that the Earth's climate fluctuates every so often, which is why we have ice ages every 10-20 thousand years or so, to which I was saying I agree with. I thought you were essentially saying "it's going to change whether we like it or not, we're not in control of it, so there's no point in trying to do anything to change it" - is that the point you were making?

panda wan you been living under a rock?

the warming of the earth was caused by sunspot cycles that is the truth

we are at the end of the hot cycle and coming in an very incative period

thats why the earth is cooling now and has been since 1998

there is expected to be another mini ice age in europe like there was a few hundred years back

chew on this for a while. the UN and climate change scientists have been rigging the data

you are being fed garbage and swallowing it hook like and sinker:

india is forming thier own climate body because of the scientist active deceit and lies that were revealed when hackers hacked into thier emails and released them to the world!!!!!

get in the game baby!!!!

India to 'pull out' of UN 'global warming' panel because it 'cannot rely' on UN...

India forms new climate change body

The Indian government has established its own body to monitor the effects of global warming because it “cannot rely” on the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the group headed by its own Nobel prize-winning scientist Dr R.K Pachauri.

By Dean Nelson in New Delhi
Published: 3:47PM GMT 04 Feb 2010

The move is a significant snub to both the IPCC and Dr Pachauri as he battles to defend his reputation following the revelation that his most recent climate change report included false claims that most of the Himalayan glaciers would melt away by 2035. Scientists believe it could take more than 300 years for the glaciers to disappear.
The body and its chairman have faced growing criticism ever since as questions have been raised on the credibility of their work and the rigour with which climate change claims are assessed.

Related Articles
In India the false claims have heightened tensions between Dr Pachauri and the government, which had earlier questioned his glacial melting claims. In Autumn, its environment minister Mr Jairam Ramesh said while glacial melting in the Himalayas was a real concern, there was evidence that some were actually advancing despite global warming.
Dr Pachauri had dismissed challenges like these as based on “voodoo science”, but last night Mr Ramesh effectively marginalized the IPC chairman even further.

He announced the Indian government will established a separate National Institute of Himalayan Glaciology to monitor the effects of climate change on the world’s ‘third ice cap’, and an ‘Indian IPCC’ to use ‘climate science’ to assess the impact of global warming throughout the country.

“There is a fine line between climate science and climate evangelism. I am for climate science. I think people misused [the] IPCC report, [the] IPCC doesn’t do the original research which is one of the weaknesses… they just take published literature and then they derive assessments, so we had goof-ups on Amazon forest, glaciers, snow peaks.

“I respect the IPCC but India is a very large country and cannot depend only on [the] IPCC and so we have launched the Indian Network on Comprehensive Climate Change Assessment (INCCA),” he said.
It will bring together 125 research institutions throughout India, work with international bodies and operate as a “sort of Indian IPCC,” he added.
The body, which he said will not rival the UN’s panel, will publish its own climate assessment in November this year, with reports on the Himalayas, India’s long coastline, the Western Ghat highlands and the north-eastern region close to the borders with Bangladesh, Burma, China and Nepal. “Through these we will demonstrate our commitment to climate science,” he said.

The UN panel’s claims of glcial meltdown by 2035 “was clearly out of place and didn’t have any scientific basis,” he said, while stressing the government remained concerned about the health of the Himalayan ice flows. “Most glaciers are melting, they are retreating, some glaciers, like the Siachen glacier, are advancing. But overall one can say

incontrovertibly that the debris on our glaciers is very high the snow balance is very low. We have to be very cautious because of the water security particularly in north India which depends on the health of the Himalayan glaciers,” he added.

The new National Institute of Himalayan Glaciology will be based in Dehradun, in Uttarakhand, and will monitor glacial changes and compare results with those from glciers in Pakistan, Nepal and Bhutan.

CHINA MILITARY: SELL U.S. BONDS TO PUNISH WASHINGTON...
China PLA officers urge economic punch against U.S.

BEIJING (Reuters) - Senior Chinese military officers have proposed that their country boost defense spending, adjust PLA deployments, and possibly sell some U.S. bonds to punish Washington for its latest round of arms sales to Taiwan.

The calls for broad retaliation over the planned U.S. weapons sales to the disputed island came from officers at China's National Defence University and Academy of Military Sciences, interviewed by Outlook Weekly, a Chinese-language magazine published by the official Xinhua news agency.

The interviews with Major Generals Zhu Chenghu and Luo Yuan and Senior Colonel Ke Chunqiao appeared in the issue published on Monday.

The People's Liberation Army (PLA) plays no role in setting policy for China's foreign exchange holdings. Officials in charge of that area have given no sign of any moves to sell U.S. Treasury bonds over the weapons sales, a move that could alarm markets and damage the value of China's own holdings.

While far from representing fixed government policy, the open demands for retaliation by the PLA officers underscored the domestic pressures on Beijing to deliver on its threats to punish the Obama administration over the arms sales.
"Our retaliation should not be restricted to merely military matters, and we should adopt a strategic package of counter-punches covering politics, military affairs, diplomacy and economics to treat both the symptoms and root cause of this disease," said Luo Yuan, a researcher at the Academy of Military Sciences.
"Just like two people rowing a boat, if the United States first throws the strokes into chaos, then so must we."

Luo said Beijing could "attack by oblique means and stealthy feints" to make its point in Washington.

"For example, we could sanction them using economic means, such as dumping some U.S. government bonds," Luo said.

The warnings from the PLA come after weeks of strains between Washington and Beijing, who have also been at odds over Internet controls and hacking, trade and currency quarrels, and President Barack Obama's planned meeting with the Dalai Lama, the exiled Tibetan leader reviled by China as a "separatist."

MILITARY SPENDING BOOST

Chinese has blasted the United States over the planned $6.4 billion arms package for Taiwan unveiled in late January, saying it will sanction U.S. firms that sell weapons to the self-ruled island that Beijing considers a breakaway province of China.

China is likely to unveil its official military budget for 2010 next month, when the Communist Party-controlled national parliament meets for its annual session.
The PLA officers suggested that budget should mirror China's ire toward Washington.

"Clearly propose that due to the threat in the Taiwan Sea, we are increasing military spending," said Luo.

Last year, the government set the official military budget at 480.7 billion yuan ($70.4 billion), a 14.9 percent rise on the one in 2008, continuing a nearly unbroken succession of double-digit increases over more than two decades.
The fresh U.S. arms sales threatened Chinese military installations on the mainland coast facing Taiwan, and "this gives us no choice but to increase defense spending and adjust (military) deployments," said Zhu Chenghu, a major general at China's National Defence University in Beijing.
In 2005, Zhu stirred controversy by suggesting China could use nuclear weapons if the United States intervened militarily in a conflict over Taiwan.
The United States switched official recognition from Taiwan to China in 1979. But the Taiwan Relations Act, passed the same year, guarantees Taiwan a continued supply of defensive weapons.

China has the world's biggest pile of foreign currency reserves, much of it held in U.S. treasury debt. China held $798.9 billion in U.S. Treasuries at end-October.
But any attempt to use that stake against Washington would probably maul the value of China's own dollar-denominated assets.
China has condemned previous arms sales, but has taken little action in response to them. But Luo said the country's growing strength meant that time has passed.

"China's attitude and actions over U.S. weapons sales to Taiwan will be increasingly tough," the magazine cited him as saying. "That is inevitable with rising national strength."

Is this sarcasm? Seriously. I've seen this at least 3 different times. The exact same claims and everything.

Think for a second man... Science proved the Earth was round, it was the average people who didn't know anything about the planet who could only base what they knew on what they saw at the time who thought it was flat. Then scientists came along and ran some tests and determined it is in fact round. Same thing with the Earths orbit... Same thing with the age...

Scientists figure shit out, that's what they do.

Scientists also figure shit out wrongly. It was science, as it were, that proved the earth was flat before it proved it was round. And it was also biased pseudo science with a political agenda that proved global warming, before more objective science proved it all a fraud.
