Grow log TNR(day11) and bagseed(day01)

OK, I've done a few grows in the past that have been both good and bad. I decided this time I would make a record of my grow and get some feedback from everybody.

I started this grow with 2 TNR seeds from KC Brains but one was badly mutated and I yanked it about a week after sprouting. The seedling with leaves is the other TNR on day 11 after sprouting. The one that is just breaking earth is a bag seed I dropped into the pot I sprouted the other TNR in.

TNR is supposedly the monster of all cannabis plants. I've read reviews that said the plant can get up to 4 meters in a season. The seed bank I ordered from ran out of what I wanted and sent me these instead. My plan is to LST the hell out of her. I am building another box out of 2, 40 gallon tubs. I figure I will LST daily for about a month and then flower and hopefully she will not get out of hand. The bag seed I will grow out and LST in this current box.

They are regular seeds so hopefully at least one of them will be female.

They are growing in miracle grow natures choice potting soil and perlite. So far I have only fed them plain water. I am experimenting with oxygenated water. I have an air pump running into a gallon jug that I water them with. I've heard this does wonders for root development.

The box is lined with with duct tape. With a spy window in the front. 2" air intake on the back with 4, 26w cool white 6500K cfl's. I also have a 90w UFO 9:1 r/b inside the box but it makes the temps get too high so I have not been using it. I did get a new fan with a much higher cfm rating that I will be installing shortly. This may allow me to start using the UFO again.

Lights are currently on 24/7.

More pics from later same day.

Pic 1:temp/hydro meter. Cheap one from walmart not sure how accurate it is. Temps tend to stay around 77-81.

Pic 2:Bag seed

Pics 3 + 4:TNR

I switched the lights to 20/4 today. Thought it would be good to give them a little rest each day. Might help the TNR get a little more vertical growth too.

A pic of the bagseed to start and the other 3 are the TNR. This is about 9 hours after there first 4 hours of darkness. Just watered them with aerated R.O. water. The TNR seems to be in perfect health. Short and compact. I'm wondering when it will take off.

Almost makes me wonder if it is TNR. Do sativas sometimes start like this? The leaves are wide too. Honestly wouldn't mind if it turned out to be something else as long as it is a good smoke.

I'll start LST'ing when she gets a little bit taller.

Well about an hour ago I noticed my closet runs about 5 degrees cooler at about 74.5 when it is closed so I turned on the UFO and it's running at about 85.6 and the closet is 65.7. I'm going to put a small cooling fan in the closet to see if that helps with the temp. I just need to run to lowes and then I can install the larger exhaust fan. Then hopefully temps won't be a problem.

Temps went up into the 90's so I turned the UFO back off. Temps are fine now.

Just watered the girls and gave the TNR her first very light feeding of fox farms nutes. The bag seed got plain water.

I also made a CO2 generator using brewers yeast.

I switched one of the 6500k CFL's to a 2700k. I think the broader spectrum will be good for the girls.

Oh and I forgot to mention it before. Please feel free to post in my journal. I invite any questions or comments so go ahead and shoot.

I took some pics with a tape measurer to give everyone a little perspective of the girls. Anyone know why they are staying so short? Is it some sort of stress?

In honor of the TNR being 2 weeks old I decided I'd name her. So from now on I am going to call her Juliana. I'm not going to name the bag seed just yet.

They are both are doing fine. Nice color and development. No burnt leaves or anything.

The box temps are staying around 80-81 with the 2700k light in there. I'm guessing when they are all 2700k the temp will be around 90 again. I'm just not going to worry about it too much. I have had plants turn out great in boxes that ran hot.

your going to want to go with mainly daylight bulbs during veg i mix it up and throw one soft white to get a bigger spectrum. and go with soft-white during 12/12

maybe because they look indica dominant, but them being short is a good thing. but im still a novice grower so im not to sure.

That's how I have it set up. 3 daylight 6500k bulbs and 1 2700k. For flower I'll either do all 2700k or 3:1.

I agree, but this is suppose to be a giant sativa. I just wish I knew if I was doing something wrong or if they gave me incorrectly labeled seeds. Then again maybe she just starts out like this.

im not to sure if you really want it to get to get taller just put the lights up high so they stretch-out, i wouldn't recommend doing it though.

Yeah, I'm going to let her do her thing. When she is taller I'll start LST'ing her and maybe top her, but that will depend on how her growth goes.

The bag seed has a 2nd set of serrated leaves. Long and thin with only single blades so far. She is also pretty short. The box must do something to keep them small. Same sort of thing happened with my first 2 grows.

Pics 1+2: Bag Seed
Pics 3-6: Juliana
Pic 7:Fan I attatched to try and strengthen the branches. It was originally directly below where it is now aimed straight up.
Pic 8:CO2 Generator overflowing but not making a mess. I shake it a few times a day to keep production up.
Pic 9: Both girls. You can also seethe old positioning for the fan. CO2 is still in same place.

Any recommendations on fan and CO2 generator placement for best performance?

Have a bunch of pics from yesterday, day 16/06.

I also did some more experimenting. First I lowered the girls so that they are flush with where the boxes meet. I've already noticed a little vertical growth so i think this was a good move.

I turned off the fan inside the box. All it was doing was circulating hot air. With it off the only airflow is up and out of the box. When the canopy is thick enough I'll turn it back on to strengthen the branches.

I turned the UFO back on. With the girls far enough away and no fan to mix the hot air the box is hanging right around 80-81.

A few pics from today. I pushed Juliana's top to the side to get some light to the lower branches. One of them really took off from it. I bent her the other way to get the other branches some light.

I decided I'm going to call the bag seed Tia. She is doing well. Her leaves are thinner than Juliana's and I think she will be lankier.
