Grow Tent Club

i run my exhaust fan 24/7 just to avoid wild changes in humidity.

will it hurt anything that my exhaust fan runs the hole time while my lights are on to keep the room to stay at 80 to 83 ferinheigh and my rh is around 33%??? or is it nothing to worry about?

Can anyone advise me on inclosed Grow Light Air Cooled Reflectors , are they any good?? i have a grow tent and have big probs with heat so i,ve been thinking about getting one, do they make that much of a diff? how much light will i loss by useing one of these?

also can i use my carbon fan to vent the hood as well at taking any smells away?

has anyone used them on here if so can you let me know if there any good please

:leaf:heres some pics of my casey jones that i got in a 3x3x7 mylar tent with one other smaller plant (purple erkle)..i vegged for about 30days with a 400w mh and now im flowering with a 400w hps..i tied it down a bunch of times to so i can have an even canopy cuz this strain tends to stretch out..i just open up the tent to let air in, i gotta couple fans, one in side one outside blowing air in..its also right by my window so it gets pretty good air flow..the pics are the day before i put her into 12/12

Nice Cali. And Gezon, congrats on the veg room. Lookin good. Here's my deal. I have no monitor right now. Using a non HD tv and it's blurry. I'm also having serious heat issues. So between the two issues I'm not in here as much. As a result,I am only posting updates in my journal. After I have everything under control I'll paste some shit in. Anyone interested my journal is in my sig. Peace brothers.

Yay grow-tents.

Here's a pic of mine, or at least the plant in it.

1 1/2' x 1 1/2' x 4'
4 x 36" T5 6400K lamps hung vertically.
2 small table top fans - one for exhaust, one for circulation.

The sealed vented hood will make all the difference. And yes you can use the same fan if it is strong enough. Heres how mine was set up. Its the same now but the filter didnt cut it late in flowering anymore so I picked up the can 33 filter.

i totally agree with docD! i have about the same arrangement (without the filter.) my exhaust fan pulls air through the enclosed hood and temps stay pretty much what my basement air temps are. i'll try to get a better picture.

a couple more pix. pretty simple arrangement. it's just a 6" exhaust fan through the blockbuster enclosed hood. it's got hinged glass so that makes it easier to clean. no other intake or exhaust fans. right now i'm running a 250 watt MH light but will switch to the 400w soon.

Purchasing a tent soon, 20"X36"x64", anybody ever use ScrOG in a setup like that? Was the yield exceptionally better, or was it a bigger pain in the ass to get to the rear plants with little access? Thanks, any advice you have is very welcome in this direction.

I'd like to chime in here. Running my Homebox XS, 2x2x4 for over a year now. Grew with flourscents until this recent grow and switched to a sunsystem 150w HPS, not remote ballast. My first ever grow is in my sig under my journal. Broke my camera last year and havent been able to share with you guys.

Anyways I got 3 girls in there now under the 150w. They're supercropped (Bent at 90 degree at that) and take up an effective growing area of like 1.5x1.5ft. 4th week of flowering and the buds look way bigger than cfl. Time will only tell how much bigger.

I've had to keep the front open for the majority of the day to keep temps below 80. I went to the store yesterday and bought a cheap inline fan thats rated at 80cfm (100 max it says) along with ducting, duct tape etc. I also bought materials to build a filter. Well, without the filter on there the tent still reaches 82-83 while ambient is 72. With the filter on it pushes 90... The grow room is 16cf and my fan is 80cfm; 5 exchanges per mintue. Shouldnt this keep things at least 5 above ambient? Is the ballast making THAT much heat on 150w?? Will it make a big diff to remote the ballast

is it possible to remove the ballast and move it outside the tent? i'm assuming your bulb is not enclosed and you can't hook an exhaust to it? i have a 250w ballast in the tent and it doesn't put out that much heat but your grow space is much smaller since i have the Xl HB. otherwise all i can think of is getting a bigger or better exhaust fan to really move the air through the tent.
