Yo Raider,Hey Berry when you re-use your coir, do you clean all the old roots out? I thought about re-using last run, but it was all roots.
Really, all roots huh? Usually the center of the pot doesnt have a lot of roots... one it is broken up then you should find that there is more usable coco left over then you think.
I just dump a few pots at a time of the old coco into a big tote, and then I break it all up, removing the majority of roots as i go along... It is actually a lot easier then it sounds... I can do around 100 pots every hour when i have a worker helping.
When your done removing the roots and breaking up the coco, then you can refill the pots...but dont pack the coco too firmly. The coco breaks down over time and at this point doesnt hold as much air as it did when it was new, so pack the pots loose and/or add some perlite if needed... It would be smart to re-inoculate your garden at this point as well.
-Hey Zen, did you ever get my PM about the coco re-use?
