Hey everyone!

I know ive been kinda inconsistant this past week with posting. Ive been busy and my phone was broke : / If everyone posted their updates with the " good " news and the " bad " news , then this weeks post goes as follows :

The good news.

The plants are up to 7ml canna a + 7ml canna b + 6ml Boost + 2ml Cannazym + 2ml Rhizotonic*

* per gallon

They are thriving and havent had any problems since the ph issues in the beginning of the journal. Bud sites are all over the place on these girls. I posted the pictures below : D .

I will be getting a better camera for the flower shots but you can get the basic idea of whats goin on from lookin at the pics. There is def pistil formations happenin and i do believe the flowering process has officially started.

The Bad News

I took clones. to be more specific, i took 11 clones. Most of these clones have died ... some are still kinda kickin and im hopin they will pull through ... but only ONE has rooted htrough to the outside of the rapid rooters . I will be transplanting it into coco tomorrow. The process was very new to me and without having someone experienced here to personally guide me through the process of " taking care " of the clones , i guess low numbers were inevitable. Ill be trying to pull as many more through as possible. I believe i have recognized most of my mistakes this time and will most likely make my own ez cloner for next batch.

thanks for checkin it out everyone and hopefully the buds will start to POP real soon : D :hump:

Dro

PS the circled spots on the circuit board are where the top ramen spilled ... damn top ramen : (

i know i know : ( . I know what i did wrong though. Ill be much more prepared the next time i clone. The survivor will be my blackjack mother. I think some others may still pull through as well. We shall see.

you kept ur clones in a humidity dome right, i hear you have to keep it in there untill they root, then youll know they rooted when you take the dome off and they wilt after a little time, and if they dont wilt then you got yourself a mother, also i dont know if your suppose to root clones in those rapid rooters, i think u want a neutral starter plug with no nutes. I took clones once for shits and giggles and i tried a ok stater plugs, and perlite, perlite killed it, messy but quick as shit

your girls are lookin good as hell, mine are lookin a litte ugly cuz of those tip burns, i think i let me ppm get way to high, i also picked up some snow storm ultra, so for these other cats, theyll be able to see a side by side comparison to see if the shit works, you should buy a nikkon coolpix, 12 mega pixels for those future bud porn close ups

Ima send you a pm and come visit your journal in a minute. They all got 18+ bud sites on them so i hope they will yield well. The setup is FINALLY dialed in completely i think. I cant wait till harvest time :" D

Hey man I keep mothers and take my own clones, I have a 100% success rate (ok well like 99%). If you're interested I can fill you in on my exact process. Cloning gave me a bit of trouble at first too.

Ladies lookin great though!

Supplies to make life ez.
tray/dome (taller domes are better cuz u can have bigger clones and bigger clones = bigger plants faster)
Root Riot tray (~25, comes with 50 cubes and a packet of clonex).
Spray bottle, water & superthrive
Liquid Karma by Botanicare is great for cloning.

I take my clones with scissors, people say strait edges are better, but I'm not having issues so why change it. Anyways, I get my clonex rdy to go in a small cap or container. Then I fill my little spray bottle with water & a couple drops of the superthrive. I also mix Liquid karma at half strength (about 5ml/gal) and drip a few drops onto each cube with a pipette.

Things to note when taking clones...
1) look for healthy end branches with healthy growth, they shouldn't be deficient to begin with. Slightly thicker stems seem better than flimsy branches.
2) take the clones when the nutrients are reduced on the mother if at all possible, this helps rooting.
3) When taking a clone, cut right below a node and then remove that node from the side of the stem (it should be at the bottom of your clone if you cut it right). Roots will grow out of this wound.
4) After you take the clones, clip the tips of the large fans off, you want to reduce the transpiration from the leaf thus reducing water needs of the clone.
5) Spray the clones & dome at least daily, if the dome is still moist you are good, if the walls are dry, it's time for another spray.
6) LOW light this is key! Clones don't like a lot of light and strong light will cause them to droop, dry out and generally not be happy. One 4 ft, 32watt flouroscent at 12" is . want just enough light to keep them on the cycle but not enough to 'grow' them. I use 18/6 same as my mothers, but some claim clones do better on 24 hours, ur choice here.
7) Keep the temperature around 75-80 where the dome is, keeping a therm/hygro inside will let you monitor the temp&humidity accurately.

They should root in 10-14 days, I generally open the vents more & mist less as they near the end, sort of a hardening off before I remove them from the dome. I'll update this if I remember anymore tips.

dude thats awsome. I did follow a lot of the guidelines you said but didnt mix anything in with the water until the end. I just started misting with rhizotonic which helps with root formation. Ill def keep that info in mind next time i clone. + Rep : D

yeah they will. Mind you i have put the light practically on top of this lady the entire grow. With my DIY cool tube i could place my hand on the glass tube and hold it there and no burn :)

i think that this might have had something to do with the height of her too. I was able to make her small :)
