i agree.. there not the best kinda crappy even but its good for noobs... i personall havent used anything to guage trichomes in years and can just tell when a plant is at her peak but this takes some practiceI've used a lot of different magnification devices.
The 30X jewelers loupe is my personal favorite.
The Scope that everyone uses is actually my least favorite thing to use.
it is true they are sort of cumbersome to use. how much is the jewler's loupe and where would i get one? i got the radio shack deal because it was right there. is 30x enough to really see the trichs? my main issue with the scope is i have shaky hands and it makes it hard to focus for more than about 2 seconds. once i find a good spot to look at trichs my hand moves and i have to start over. sometimes i will hold the bud with one hand and work the scope with the other. i hate touching the buds but wtf? is there a techique i am missing?i agree.. there not the best kinda crappy even but its good for noobs... i personall havent used anything to guage trichomes in years and can just tell when a plant is at her peak but this takes some practice

Thanks for all the helpful information. I have a 10X magnifying loupe and the 420 scope.
I assume a sugar leaf is one of the small ones on a calyx. Do you usually take them from a certain part of the plant? Top most cola, from the bottom? Does it even matter?
Hey, that thing looks pretty cool. I might have to check it out.i used to use all the above a radioshack 12 dollar scope, a jewlers loop 30, and i had a hand held magnifyer three 10x can use on two or three at a time now i use mostly a toy i found called eyeclops
