just plain old under the cabinet flo's from walmart, i usually get a nice healthy root system within 10-12 days, I water them with clonex clone solution about every 3-4 days. I tend to keep my " promix" quite wet until they root, just seems to work better for me. The strains are super silver haze, legends ultimate indica and blueberry. Might do away with the ssh, she is really a tricky bitch lol

I heard the SSH is prominent in Tillamook, Or. Here in Eugene, Or. I am rockin and representing SLH.

wow... all these replies. great info here. I just stepped out n bought that clonex clone solution as per the advice earlier. Here are changes that I have made thus far:

1) raised t5 bulbs 12-15 inches from top of clones.

2) drained ALL water from the bottom tray (initially had just enough water to hit the bottom of my medium and my medium as a result was soaked on the bottom but damp mid way and top so i thought it was ok.)

3) bought some Clonex Clone Solution diluted it to the foliar feeding suggestions on the bottle adjusted the PH to 5.8-5.9ish and gave the clones a good spraying

Concerning raising the dome:
Im not too confident yet. On day 5-6 I raised the dome and within 10 minutes all my clones were wilting so bad it looked like wet flaccid spinach. Its only been 2 days since then. I think Im going to wait another 2 days (10 total) before I test for roots again. I dont want to stress these things too much and I want to give the clones a chance to intake some of the diluted foliar nutes that I just sprayed. Here is hoping that this is enough to save these ladies from certain death! :)

Any other advice is greatly appreciated.

just checked all my clones while i was watering them with the clonex clone nutrient solution... none have roots yet and the few minutes it took to water each one they started to wilt. hopefully the last minute fixes I made will be enough to keep them alive and root. :(

they might perk back up once you water them, I found the easiest way for me to clone, is using promix as my medium. I have tried many methods of cloning some worked and some didn't. Try a few different methods until you find the one that works for you

in your opinion what are the chances that they root based on the info provided? guesstimate... They are already on day 8... :-/

mmm I do not as I dont keep a camera around my grow areas. Ill see if I can take some and post them up later tonight or tomorrow.

Also would it be a bad idea to reapply clonex rooting gel? it looks as though its all washed away or is the initial application all thats needed?

You are way over stressing here. When it comes to cloning, less is more. Leave them alone and let them do their thing.

Also you are watering/misting waaaaay too much. Think, if you keep feeding them through their leafs, what need/incentive do they have to develop roots to seek water or nutrients.

Same with humidity. By the end of the first week, you should be looking to get them out of the dome altogether.

Sometimes, they just take longer to root. My first set of clones took a MONTH!

Checkout my journal, quite alot of info regarding clones.

Trust me on this, leave the domne on for another day or two. Opent the vent to let air in. Mist ONCE every other day. Each day open the vent more. By the 3rd or fourth day, take the dome off. And just leave them alone. They will root. It might take some time but they will. Maybe not all. Maybe not at the same time. But you should get some roots.

Alot of things affect the rooting process. You dont need supplements, or additives, or root juice or all that rubbish. If you cut them properly, and you didnt feed the mother just before you took your cuttings, you can put them in their cubes or soil or whatever and just let them do their thing. Stop stressing and let them be.

One last note. they dont need much direct light. Subtle light (a foot away is okay) is all they need. Also they should have 6 hours of dark. During the dark is when the energy is focused on rooting. One morning ou will check them and they will have roots. Leave them another day and notice how much more rooting takes place over night.

Chill, relax, let the cuttings alone and they will root. :)

once they root is when you wanna let the soil dry,that way the roots will grow stronger "looking for water" and i leave my lights on 24/0. works like a charm

That looks like pretty much what I do except I use "Sure To Grow" cubes (STG) and Clonex rooting gel. Mine dont grow roots however they just turn slightly yellow instead and just sit there haha... hopefully they will be able to rebound but somehow I highly doubt it. My first time cloning leaves much room for improvement ;)

I have heard alot of people doing 24/0 lights. I started off that way, and found that after switching to 18/6 the process was faster. Obviously every strain is different, as is the individual environment.

Its safe to say though, that the cuttings dont require that much interaction.

cloning is not the easiest thing in the world, but once you get the hang of it, it comes like second nature

Honestly my friend, 8 days is too soon. Some people get lucky and see roots in 8 days or less, but thats the exception, not the rule. Anywhere between 15-21 is more realistic. As I said before. My clones using the method your using (almost exactly) take on average 3 and half weeks to a month. But when they do root, the roots are very healthy and the clones grow very quickly once transplanted. Dont be pulling them out of the cubes. Leave them alone. No you should not re-apply clonex. How would you know its washed away other than pulling them out? If you pull them out, you stand a good chance of destroying any roots that may have started to develop.


Either way 8 days is still early.

Well if thats the case then how come they are turning yellow? obviously something I was doing was incorrect. No?

PS
will cut down misting to once a day... also I have started to open my humidity dome vents a bit and will gradually open them more each day.

they are probably turning yellow from lack of food, as someone stated earlier that they were being " bleached" from the light, I really don't think thats the case. Give them a day or 2 to see if you will get some color back after you fed them
