Nope no PH meter, no (working) thermometer, no ppm meter, no nothin' except the box and the lights, and some good ol' shitty miracle gro
and so far they're alright still going strong.

Figured I water all my garden plants with regular un ph'd tap water and they're happy enough, plus I regularly flush my res and make it rain once in a while so the res is never full of the same nutes for long enough to cause ph problems!

Well I'll see at the end, but I've had no problems with PH affecting my plants, and if I get within an ounce on either side of my target I'll be happy which I think is very do-able

Thanks for stopping by... yeah started off really shaky with not making my mind up on what methods to use... but alas it's turned out alright thus far XD just tied my 4 main colas down to the side of the pot to allow more light to the bud sites and growth in the middle of the plant, and she bushed up EVEN MORE in about 4 hours

Go for it, I always like reading other peoples journals it really helps to see how different people overcome different or the same problems, theres so many solutions to everything, and also sometimes stops you from making their mistakes.

How long you been vegging for?

I've set a final date for switching my lights as the 11th september, gonna have some mega bushy plants, taking clones on monday (after reading festival) or next friday.

DAY 59

Haven't done a proper update for a while now.

These pics are as of yesterday when I got back from reading festival (awesome btw).




I took clones today here are teh babies 7 in total:



I got one downstairs that i couldnt be bothered to take a picture of but you get the jist.

And the proud mother... or subject you could say seeing as she hasn't technically made seeds.. anyhoo formalities out of the way... enjoi!




The one on the left is the skunk haze regular seed so far just plodding along as usual super LST'd her.. as in accidently supercropped whilst lst'ing and just continued to tie her down.

I'm switching the lights this friday as I now need to move my fluoros across into my veg chamber to make space for all my lovely clones.

Got an update on my LED's should be arriving the end of this week or next week super pissed at this shitty company.. if your in the UK DON'T use CTLEDlight.co.uk they are useless, 3 months now and only just getting my light and virtually no customer support.

Rant over...

I also found some little black bugs in my medium last night, I panicked and completely disinfected the grow room sprayed down my plants and stuff to kill the little fuckers! probably did some good... I was reading today and found out that they were springtails (I soaked my plant in my pond a week ago, probably picked them up then) basically they are no harm as they only eat dead plant matter which is good so I'll be keeping them, but in check so they don't over populate my operation XD

On friday I will also be building a home made cool tube and carbon filter so will post a quick tutorial of how I do it for anyone who's interested.

Woot XD finally after 8 weeks my LED's have actually arrived.. now I have to wait till I get home from work to pick them up from next door... and I'm switching the lights tonight you know only 5 weeks too late but hey, this business is goin perpetual soooo its goin in my veg cab.

thanks man, yeah I got the photos and stuff for it just gotta upload and write stuff...

I'm only using the LED's for veg, and they are amazing the plants love it... I'll admit that for flowering they are crap simply cos they dont have enough wattage buut one day they'll get there.. plus they look really cool nice purple light coming out from my veg cab, decided against using my chair as I have to move it around to block the door to my grow room when my parents visit, works a treat XD

I haven't built the carbon filter yet... I switched the lights and now they smell less than they did before :s maybe the heat is killing some of the smell till they start budding properly.


Update on the plants...

Day 2 of flower

I gave them 24 hours of darkness before switching while I set up my veg cab and flower area.

So far so good.. I've noticed some burning on the leaves of Cassie I think some of it can be attributed to nute burn, but I also sprayed them quickly once and I think some of those water droplets magnified the light and did some burning.

Still gotta put up those pics... maybe tomorrow night XD with an update on the girls too.

And the yellowing in the centre of the leaves is starting to look like an iron deficiency so I'm adding my next batch of nutes at half strength (burned my plants at full strength) with a dash of miracle gro as it has trace elements including iron.

Just ordered 2x G13 Labs: Pineapple Express and 2x Greenhouse Seeds: Super Lemon Haze from attitude seedbank!
Seeing as my clones aren't doing so well

I don't think I have the right mediums for them to start in, that or my rockwool is too wet... either way I'm not to bothered, theres plenty more where they came from still trying to save them though.

Can't wait, gonna stick my new seeds in straight away so they'll be ready to flower by the end of this batch!

Day 71:
Flower Day 8

Just been keeping my ladys fed and watered and they're looking really healthy, im very happy with them so far!

Cassie CM has her pistils sticking out all over the place, dirty slag XD Skunk Haze still hasn't shown sex yet fingers x it's a she!

just been doing minor pruning to put all energy into new growth anad allow more light to the lower canopy which is working a treat.

I now have 3 rooted CM clones planted in the garden that I'm just going to leave and see what happens, and 2 in my veg cab.

I recently brought 2 Pineapple Express seeds aand 2 Super Lemon Haze seeds, which arrived yesterday and I potted them all up along with 1 Haze auto flower as I've never grown an auto before thought, Might as well. I have 1 Dinafem Roadrunner seed left over, another freebie so dunno what to do with it.. might pop it in the greenhouse and see.

DIY Cool tube

For those who were interested... I've yet to build a carbon filter.. dont think I need to now, I brought an ionizer from Maplin's (electric store) for £15 and boom does the job perfectly and when it does get out of control I got a can of oust which again does perfectly, REALLY cheap method of smell control.

Anyhoo:

To start with I got my main ducting in place on the tube.


Next Step I bent a small piece of sheet metal around it in order to create a sort of shield and holder for where the fitting goes.


Next Step I drilled 2 holes in the reflector hood in order to hold the cool tube up, leaving a space for the light fitting.


simply added the ducting to the other side and:



Bobs your uncle done after connecting the ducting up to the intake and outlet fan (2 separate fans along with my original intake and outlet fans so 4 fans in total)



Used duct tape to air tight any gaps around the fitting and it's sorted.
Had to screw the lightbulb in thru the tube.

Well absolute Disaster struck yesterday... I had to leave my cab closed for 5 hours.... the previous day I did it they were fine! the second time destroyed my plants....

I got my lovely CM completely cooked had 4 awesome main stems and was showing buds it was so fucked I had to cut all the dead material off... it now only has 2, mildly damaged man stems and a shit load less bud sites, proper pissed off

luckily I still have some beginnings of bud alive on the 2 main stems..

Skunk on the other hand looks fine only lost 2 leaves.

Put a CM clone into flower as well this one survived but will only yield a little bit cos its so small, I just needed some more space in my veg cab... All seeds have germinated.

Will post pics on my next update.
