You're being a bit literal there....

My point is that owning a firearm doesn't really mean shit in terms of protecting yourself from tyranny. Sure, it's a nice safety blanket, but when it comes down to it, you will always be outgunned.

And they do make for fun toys as well. And that's actually a far more rational reason for owning a firearm than 'protection against tyranny'...

I would have to disagree with the toy statement. We outnumber the military by a huge margin. Superior weapons doesn't guarantee victory. Case in point, Vietnam. We almost lost Iraq. We appear to be losing Afghanistan and we have superior weapons. It would be difficult I'll grant you, but not impossible to fend off a tyrranical govt.:peace:

We did it in 1776 too, we fought a far superior army that had better everything and a much larger force and we sent them home.

Seriously there would be nothing stupider than trying to occupy America. They craziness going on in Iraq and Afghanistan has nothing on what we would do.

I'm fine with guns, criminals will always have them and it's too much of a pain in the ass to try to get people to give them up.

LOL stupider is not a word, I correct my kids for adding "er" to words and making non words out of them. The correct usage would be ..More Stupid....

I am just pointing this out so you can correct it before people see you as a uneducated cretin. Its hard to give weight to someone's argument when that argument isn't using real words.

Not worried it popped up in spellcheck and I knew people would know what it meant, plus there is the whole irony thing. Fun thing about languages is that they do infect change over time, and what we were taught is not words may infect one day be fine.

Most rebellions started as some citizens with guns fighting the established government. Look at how long the IRA fought against England. They finally got part of their country back. They never gave up though. Afghanistan - they whooped up on Russia too.

Also, consider the military. They aren't robots, they are all people like me and you. If it really gets to where they are using napalm and copters against their own families and people do you think they will all be ok with that? I think a lot of the military would defect to the rebellion in the face of a civil war. How many people have done the impossible simply because they tried?

if people miss a word or spell things incorrectly most of us work it out and understand. Grammar and punctuation for me personally doesnt matter and i always understand what the person is trying to say. I write here how i talk it comes straight frm my head. Some people talk with their big words and long sentences but people dont understand them its all about communication and if u can communicate, correct grammar and punctuation isnt needed. Some people english might not be their 1st language some people might have dyslexia. Some like me never went to school and is a badman dont work dont follow the system. Whats all the fuss about someone said a word stupider we understand what he's trying to say just some people love to correct people like their your teacher this aint fukking school u aint our teacher. Stop all the fuss over stupid things as it gets stupider and stupider look i used his non existant word.

I'm rather disposed to see a more pussified (May not be a word) America these days. Most folks are so damn spoiled they wouldn't consider taking up arms for any cause. Just look at what they are letting the government get away with at present. There are the vets, and a few young toughs that would answer, but the majority would cower in their homes and let others do it. I would take up arms, but I'm old and in my last days, so it wouldn't matter much to me, maybe a better death that hospitals and tubes, not that I'm ill, but the possibility always exists. I'd have to fight locally as my stamina levels have dropped a bit, but I can still aim and fire, and I have a pretty good eye (eyes). I think we all know it will never come to that, we are invasion proof. No enemy would get within a few hundred miles with an assault force, well except the Mexicans, they are invading on a regular basis.
