I Use Botanicare too, its a great product, tho i have some irks with it... here is why...
Ive used this since the first time ive planted in coco and it is definetly a great product, it dissolves well if u dont gingerly mix it in your water, you know stir or shake it up well. Charts on the back of the bottle do give you a great estimation and starting point, but what size plant are they comparing to? I see your point on that t0rn, how you should scale nutrients down to plant size accordingly. But in my case, my plants are bushier than a french pussy, and just under 2 feet in height. I give them full nutrients each time, only once have i gave them 3/4 strength and have just drank all those up too quickly imo.
Second deal with botanicare, is the Potassium content in it is low, too low, 3-1-2. I have 2 beautifully healthy plants, yet one is more of a pain in the ass than the other, so it will definetly "complain" by showing me signs on her leaves. She now suffers from a deficiency in Potassium that botanicare vegetative nutrients do not provide. An easy fix to that is use bloom state nutrients, 2-2-3 which have 1% more potassium, but i might be trying a different line of vegative style nutrients for my plants, give you all a comparrison as detailed like this.
Try botanicare, made my banana kush shoot up and fluffy out like crazy, hand sized leaves on that girl. Hope this helps a little from experience rather than reading a bottle or website information. Nice plants man, they are getting bigger!
