Just another grower

New round. Gave up on nr3 for now. She is the only one without roots so think I will let her go.
I replaced her with a second nr1.
They all got roots, some more than others.
I start with 300ppfd. Nutrient in 0.6EC, 6.2PH, Run off 0.3, 6.5PH

I never searched for a keeper before so thought she would be a tasty one to have. Im can already see some differences so should give me somethings to choose from.
And by your description I have something special to look forward to.
How did yours grow?
The plants grew well for the most part. For me it was the germination that didn't go well. Fortunately for you you had better luck and are now in the clone phase. One thing I did see on one plant from seed was "fasciation". Do a search just in case you see it and don't know what it is...like I didn't.
Where this strain shines is in her taste and her fast flower times. She can also bulk nicely/offer decent yields.

good luck!

So I have been under feeding the ladies a bit, I was afraid to burn them so started with too low EC.
I am now at full dose canna A&B and 0,8ml cal/mag per litre. that is 1,7EC 5,8PH.
I have been top feeding them every day this week but will turn on the tray 2 grow tomorrow.
I gave them a haircut yesterday. I cut them pretty hard since I don't want them to branch out a lot.

So I had to pick up some coco coir plugs at the local grow store and he only had one size.
They didn't expand so good and they felt so hard after I soaked them. But since I didn't have anything else and don't really need the clones I just went for it. And it's the fastest rooting clones I ever seen. All rooted within 10 days and one even grew roots above the plug.
Never had this happened to me before.

1st week of flower and I can see some difference between them but in general they all look similar.
Except nr8, She got some kind of mutation going on. The mother looks the same so definitely something genetic.
No smell yet but that is to be expected.
The been drinking 20l Canna nutrients with Shogun Active boost. EC1800, PH5,8.
PH was ricing true out the week so had to adjust it mid week.
They all look a little bit pale so have adjusted the EC slightly higher for this coming week and will see how they respond.

Start of week 3 pictures. Stretch have hit hard. All of them have almost doubled their hight this week. The stems are ridiculous thick.
The green is back and they all look great. The Tray2Grow does a great job so far. I know I didn't do the best transplant so didn't get the root dev that I want. But they are still looking great.
Winter is coming quickly here so night temps are dropping. Night low around 18c and light on 23c. A bit low but it is better then to high.
We are at 3ml/l (1,5 EC) Canna A and B and 0,8ml/l (0,4EC) canna cal/mag + Shogun active boost 2ml/l.
And I'm using Cannazym and Rhizotonic.
I Have Canna PK13/14 that I plan to use in week 5.

HJ#1 - 41cm - She didn't receive as much of a lollipoping as her twin and you can see the difference in growt.

So the plan is to select the phenotypes with the best flavour and effect. I will do a selection of 2-4 to keep at harvest this round and run a second round with them to choose a keeper.
This way I don't need to keep so much data this time, since flavour and effect is the only thing that matters.
That lets me focus more on the growth structure next run when I have fewer phenos to work with. I find it easier to track the different phenotypical expressions and to remove the noise of micro environment factors this way.

I have started to prep the mother so I can cut 4 clones of each one to be ready when harvest comes.
The mother are keep in a home made cabinet with some 3x35w Temu led panels. They give of 200ppfd directly under the light so they are not strong. But they are good enough to grow a plant to take cuttings every few weeks.

I top feed them once ore twice a week and sometimes I just put some nutrient solution in the tray and let them drink it.
My tap water is not so great so I use RO water and mix up a batch every time I feed.
I feed them 2L every time with gives plenty of run off. Today it was at 1.4EC and 5,8PH so seems to be in good range.
Nutrient used at the moment is 2ml/l (1,1EC) Canna A and B, 0,8ml (0,4EC) Cal/mag. And I use the Rhizotonic and Cannazym according to feeding schedule.
I spray all plants once a week with Neem and a rotation of Rosmarin oil, eucalyptus oil and lemongrass oil. I use remulgan as an emulsifier.
I am running out of neem so will be looking in to other IPM sprays out there to see what is available.

All mother freshly cut.

Led panel that I had to cut the cords of to wire up in the cabinet. And one of the fans I have for vetilation.

HJ#8 - Medium vigour - Roots in 10-11 days - Stretch 9-41cm - She have a tendency to trow out some weird leaf shapes. Im not sure if she has some mutant trades or just don't like the nutrient she's on.

So far I have no preference over the ladies. NR 8 is questionable, but she might still be a keeper if she meets the taste test.
I plan to prune them on day 21 and set up a trellis net for support.
It feels like the ladies will tip over when I move them already so they will have to stay put after day 21.
They didn't develop so good roots this time due to me over watering them the first week after transplant so they are not so stable.
Next time I might stick a support in each pot and use that Instead of trellis net so I still can move them around.

The temps is a bit low and humidity starts to rise as we get further in to flowering. I will need to turn up the heat a bit in the lung room.
I can also ramp up my ventilation way more if I need so should not be a problem. I don't mind being around 65% in the beginning of flower.
I will post a graph of the grow tent so far. I think the humidity sensor is off by+2-3% and the temp +-1c.

So I did some pruning and installed a net for some much needed support.
They have all stretched a lot since last week. The ladies are all between 60-75cm. Long internodal spacing. Some smell start to be noticed.
A few have a distinct sweet and pepper smell and a few have a ridiculously sweet syrupy smell. It will be fun going forward and see how they all develop.
I did some super coping on 3 of the taller plants and unfortunately broke 1 top. She was still holding on so I taped her back up again.
They all seem super fragile. Little to no self support and when I pinched the stems they all broke really easy, nothing like the ones I'm used to in living soil that are super hard to pinch most of the time. It might been due to too little air circulation so they didn't need to work hard enough to stay up. So I added another fan in there for now.
I might try and add some silica to my nutrient in the future.

the new batch of clones have started to show roots. And again some have the aerial roots, It is so cool to see.
I used to clone years back but never had the success rate I have now. I contribute that to the perfect cloning environment and not my skills.
I use a clone dome with a high lid, heat mat on a thermostat set to 26,5c and a 10W led. The air temp is 27-28c, the plugs keep around 22-23c and humidity is 90% with the lid fully closed.

This time I used Eazyplugs since the store didn't have any coco jiffy. Not all have rooted yet but the one that have are about 1-3 day faster then in the coco. I will still go with coco plugs in the future, I like the bigger size so I can keep them longer in the clone stage to build up the roots.
I have ordered 2 different brands of cloning plugs, and both in 2 different sizes so will run some test in the future.
