First Grow: Are My Girls Looking, Okay?

So here are the tops to my girls...still in veg, but I'm switching to flower on Friday so they will be 4 weeks behind their moms. I'm hoping to get a perpetual harvest going every month or so this way.
This is the cloned top of the AK48. I tried my hand at lst, rather than topping her (I've already got that down pretty good). There are a ton of tops on her - at least a dozen - and she's getting really bushy. Wonder what she will look like at the end of the week...let alone after her stretch!



This is the Short Rider top - didn't do anything but let her grow, since she's a pretty small growing strain anyway.

Manditroy that AK48 cloned top is bushy as hell and is going to yield you a shit load of weed. Even the cloned top of the Short Ryder is short due to the strain but fat as a pig. Great Job +REP

Hey Chief - the Northern Lights popped finally...got its little head out of the dirt and is trying to catch up to the Master Kush!

So you think the AK48 top is gonna be a good yielder? She is probably the widest I've grown, although the other bushes were boys. It's nice to see something that big without balls, and I can't wait to see her loaded with buds!

Have you germed any of the seeds I sent yet?

The Master Kush plants won't be harvested until the 2nd week in May, so I might have time to get 2 auto Blue Mystics seeds going I'm glad to hear that the Northern Light seed has show her head. That AK48 bush looks like my Tina, you are going to get a nice yield from her

Are the BM autos faster than what Joni has been? How long do the MKs go? Since I've only had the AK48 girls, I don't know what kind of flower time to expect from any others. I know the seedbanks give a range, but that isn't as good as talking to someone who has grown them out already. Do you know what the Short Rider finishes in - I think it may be faster than the AK was. I hear you tried it and SR was some good smoke though... The AK48 'bush' is going into flower on Friday, if she doesn't bust out of the veg space before then! I want to put the SR top in there too, but I don't know if she's gonna leave enough space to fit any other roommates. LOL

Joni is a Nirvana auto feminized seed so I can't really depend on anything they said about those seeds. I let her go 9 weeks from seed, I'm harvesting her on Friday. I want to do the drowning technique with her. I let the MKs veggie for almost 2 months and I'm flowering them for 56 days. Once they start flowering, they bud up quickly. I don't know how long the SR flowering time is but Icannabis grew them and he did a journal. The smoke was great, I was high off 1/2 joint for a couple of hours

Have you grown the Master Kush before Chief? I was wondering what kind of high it has...hoping to find a good couchlock/pain relief strain that I can count on. I tried letting some of my AK48 go longer to achieve a more body stone, but since it was just the last of the popcorn buds, I don't think I got it right. They were probably behind the rest in maturity, so the 10weeks ended up not really being a 'long' flower time for them.(they're supposed to go 7-9) If I can find something that is low smell and leans more toward the medical than head high, I would like to try it. BKB has some of his Mamadude seeds that he may trade but I'm concerned about the strong scent. Have you tried the Sour Diesel x Blueberry (I think thats what he said Mamadude was)?

The big AK top is going to the flower room in a few hours...I hope she leaves enough space to add the SR top as well. LOL

They are pungent smelling, very strong odor. They start to stink early in flowering too. They smell like something rotten with a gas station fuel smell. Its so lovely but strong. I dont mind it cause I have a filter in my tent but when I open my tent, I get smacked in the face with her stench, good stench! Anytime you Sup Crop her or pull a dead leaf off her.....she qweefs. LOL
Right now Chief, Tao Wolf, Billcollector, Kottenmouth King and I have them. I am sure Tao Wolf and Billcollector will agree that the strain is stinky. We all have them in Flowering.

Actually, the AK top that I just put into flower today gives off almost a coffee bean like scent. She is a beast...I'm thinking maybe a long lost Kardashian sister (Kelly?) cause she is a real fat ass!

Anyway, I think I should pass on the Mamadude since I don't want to risk the strong odor strains. Do you have something else you would want to trade for a couple AKs or Short Riders? It will be another 4-5 weeks before I will have the crossbreed seeds from the AK/Blue Mystic.

The only other thing I have is G13 x Hindu Kush x AK47 (possible auto strain). If you have a filter in your grow room you will be fine with the MDs. If not I can wait for another 4 or 5 weeks and should have some different seeds by then too.

Hey Manditroy this is my 1st time growing MK so I'm not sure about this strain's high. I'm hoping it's as good or better than the kush I smoked before and that shit was very good When flowering my girls I let them go 1-2 weeks longer than the seed banks recommended time line. I would invest in that carbon filter whenever you can because most of the strains smell and it's one less thing I have to worry about. However the MK and auto BM strains don't smell up the apartment when flowering and with the carbon filter, I don't smell anything in the room where the tent is I have Ona in the closet where Terrie is flowering and I don't smell anything but Ona I plan to wait until I move in July to a house before I try MamaDude strain (Sour Diesel x Blueberry) and any other strain that give off a strong smell. The Northern Light strain will give you the high you are looking for plus knock your ass out! The smell can be controlled with Ona gel. Archminister just harvested NL and he wanted the same type of high you are looking for. According to his smoke report, NL knocked him off his ass That AK top of yours is going to need plenty of room to grow because she is going to be one big bitch

Chief- Good to hear the NL is a couchlock kind of high! I already have ONA gel, so I should be good for the lower scent strains. I just don't want to mess with the really strong smelling stuff right now. I have the parts to make a DIY filter, but I have yet to really need it - the ONA, along with sensor sprays and oil warmer units, is doing the job now. The AK isn't too bad unless you're in the room with them, and the Short Rider is okay so far. They have another month to go, so it may be stronger as I near harvest time. I'm looking forward to trying the Master Kush too. The 'fat ass' AK top is over 18 inches tall and around 15 wide, and she looks like the stretch has started already (is that even possible as she only went into flower Friday morning?). There are at least a dozen tops to her - I'd say my first lst was pretty successful!

BKB - I would trade a couple AK48s for the G13xHindu KuskxAK47 if you're interested. Can swap again later when my crossbreeds are ready and you have some other strains.

Heh, I just had one of those moments where I load a bowl and end up reading all 22 pages of your grow! WAS AWESOME LOL. I'm on my 1st grow and also using AK48 (autoflower) from Nirvana, ordered around the time you said they stopped doing autoflowers (I must have got lucky, or maybe unlucky and they'll all DIE as DUDES). Everything was gravy until this thread got jacked LOL, I'm sitting here just blazed, enjoying myself, and all of a sudden get this major buzz kill as the thread switched gears to help some guy that obviously didn't check out the forums much. Anyways, thanks for the read.

Yeah, the AK48 seems to be a good strain. I plan to keep it around for a while since it did so well for me on my first grow. My current grow has an AK 4 weeks into flower, and the cloned top of that plant that was vegged longer and is now what I have nicknamed 'fat ass'. If your grow ends up with boys, you should consider letting one go until you can collect pollen - if you have somewhere to set up a 'boys room'. I did mine in the basement using a cardboard box from a microwave, a pair of CFLs, and a timer. It was pretty ghetto, but it kept them going enough to save pollen for all three strains I had. Now I can make my own seeds for a while, and save some cash (and have extras to trade for new strains). Good Luck with your AKs!

Thanks Razz - If there is anything I can do to help you out, just ask. I'm still a newb, but I've learned a lot on here, and I have been able to keep my grow on a tight budget by getting creative with supplies. It's amazing what you can do with stuff from the dollar store! I will be posting more updated photos in a few days when I have more free time and a bit more ambition...LOL
