SO you are selling overages?
I'm not picking on you Bob, really.
You are trying to isolate the #4 pheno of Jack Herer (only 55% sativa to begin with) which is the Indica pheno. These are high yielding plants and you should be harvesting WAY more than 2oz per plant especially under 2000w of HPS. You are spending way too much on dirt and nutes. And contrary to your belief, you don't need 2000w to flower 6 Jack Herer's or any other sativa or indica or hybrid (which is what JH is) for that matter, especially only planning on 2oz yields.. Hell you could do that with CFL's
Personally I think you could use some professional guidance to make your grow op more efficient. Seriously. You should be pulling serious weight off of 6 plants under 2000w. Are you just flowering clones as soon as they root without vegging them or what? That wouldn't even make sense because that would be a serious waste of light.
I'm not picking on you either...but you clearly don't understand the difference between "growing weed" and "Cultivating cannabis", at least when it comes to sativas.
You speak of efficiency and weight...cash cropper mindset. I'm talking quality and methods to create quality. Different mind set.
Do you know that Jack Herer has more cannibus cups than any other strain? Have you ever had Herer? Think it was the same flavor, smoothness and quality of effect that the sample that won the cup had? Not quite.
Genetics only guarantee potential. Quality lies in the hand of the grower. Herer has won tons of cannibals cups. Or, should I say Quality growers, choosing to grow and enter Herer have won tons of cups. get the genetics and grow it..in no way guarantees quality at all.
There are some good Indica's available at the dispensaries....no good Sativa's though...ya, you can get "Jack Herer"..but it sucks..compared to what it should be.
Grown by people trying to have efficient cost and worried about yield weight. Cash croppers, in short.
I could cut lighting, spend less on soil and fertilizer, and my quality would degrade to where it was when I didn't have the equipment that I have now. Started with this strain in a tent with 400 watts and no cooling...actually got bigger yields back then...But over time, as I could afford to improve the growing environment...the quality improved by magical amounts. 5 different mixes of guanos, soil and micro nutrients before I found the "flavor" the product should have...tons of experimentation with lighting and uvb to find the right combo to encourage thcv and thc values....while keeping cbd minimal. (1200 watts hps, 600 watss led (for spectrum, not power) 156 watts uvb..not all hps..all hps would not have enough blue, and no uvb. Metal halides work well for blue's..tried them..good results. Went to leds to have less heat to deal with. No radiant heat..can get them real close..That combination allows the trichlomes to tottaly develop much more evenly...max thc/thcv....before half of them go amber and start to degrade to cbd....allows me to let the plant mature, develop all its oils and 'flavanoids" without ripening in "sections"...
I'm not saying my meds would win the cannabis cup, but it would sure as hell make the first few cuts...and I think that's why you don't understand what I do with my grow. You just simply have a low cost/ high yield thought process. Kind of a cash cropper mentality..
As far as my overages? As with most quality Sativa's..they don't get far from home....
