Hello,
I live in a hot arid desert. High temps in summer and warm in winter. Last two crops dried in 3-4 days and after 2 months in jars they do not smell right and is harsh. it is getting smoother but, you know. Also i had to harvest before a full flush because of mites.
I have done a lot of research before asking this.
I live in "the sahara". It is VERY dry and hot here in the "kalahari". When I hang branches they dry in 3 days.
Should I hang the whole plant? will this slow drying?
Then i have just read that i should put the bud into a paper or plastic bag before jarring if i want real quality. No prob except uI don't know what to do about the fast drying.
Should I dry for 2 days and then bag cure or should I dry 2/3 days and go into jars? Or maybe straight into bags. Ventilation is no prob but the dryness just kills it.
I assume from resarch that hanging the whole plant would help. I like to manicure before drying though, at least the large fan leaves.
P.S.
This time i have the pests under control and have learned several tips just from googling stuff. neeming clones, keep it to four tops/ 5 MAXIMUM ( I didn't understand until i did it and my plants exploded). Light distance from canopy was a problem at first but have that figured out. I also have a very consistent feeding schedule that seems to be working well. Finally, I am VERY diligent on not procrastinating when it comes to anything in the garden and i have become VERY diligent about cleaning and sanitizing my space at least once a week. It's definitely worth it as I've had no mites for the plants and no ants for the molasses.
I implore the experienced to help me with this drying/curing issue as I have good seeds from Attitude and know that they have more potential.
Please help
