Do you like likes?

There was so much I wanted to Like in this thread...

Maybe if there were less duplicate random question threads like 100 'will I fail my piss test' or 'I'm high' topics etc it'd be less cluttered. My post content may be questionable but I keep it tidy, use the search function first and bump old topics/retrieve identically themed threads when I can.

Sr Verde's long-term threads are entertaining and informative x

Ah, there's a point, Psychedelic Breakfast; I've never had to use the Subscription function until now.

Perhaps that's appropriate some of the time, but what about when something simple amuses you or you want to nod in agreement? I have a feeling more people will be replying with things like 'yeah', 'lol', 'rofl' or 'me too' for half the page :sad:

Or maybe I've been too 'trigger-happy' with the Likes and have broken everything 0_o;

Well for the past 5 years there wasn't a problem? If you laugh at something, laugh. LMAO You don't NEED to respond in any way and you shouldn't. Unless you actually have something to say. Is self-restraint really that big of a problem hear? If something REALLY made you laugh, you rep. If something was REALLY helpful, you rep. If you REALLY liked something, rep. =) It made people do those things more whole-heartedly before likes....

Likes are akin to small opinion polls unto themselves in a way, but I see what you mean. If I think someone has said something really profound/thought-provoking, clever and funny, I will rep them. But most importantly if they are giving sincere, sound advice- especially in the midst of others who may not be taking the topic seriously (if it is serious subject matter)

I have received Rep for advice or critical thinking but I've also been given Rep for pictures. I think a Like alone would have been more appropriate if Reputation is supposed to indicative of a member's experience or usefulness. I may be reasonably articulate in my youth, but I can be pretty darn useless at times! 0_O

But maybe you are completely right and I should stop`complaining, if having Likes back`would compromise the sites's function.*shutting up*

EDIT: I went to this thread, and foolishly attempted to Like one of your posts... *clickety clickety fail*

Likes already compromised the sites Reputation function. Even though I can rep someone just as fast a like. People feel the obligation to leave a note when they rep. But you don't have to. I just see it as a perk. Something that makes it better and potentially more personal. I think that they should keep the Rep system and add a Dislike button. :fire:

If you really liked me you'd turn off your invisibility function. I know you get badgered CONSTANTLY for being such an easy strumpet, but be strong. You have yet to show them you're anything more than eyecandy.

Hopefully I'm getting there. I get alot of thankyou and advice request PMs, but I find it hard to reply to loads of visitor messages when people realize you're online. I'll take it off anyway If you want me to.

Ya I know that you got that visitor message and I read your reply. lol I see two pages of visitor messages in one day on your profile, before noon. Trim your friends list and make your profile private. :) My advice. ;)
