Hopefully with the absence of Likes, the intelligent people will respond expanding upon the topic at hand in a constructive manner.

I miss them as much as you Shan-Shan, but in the wake of all this downtime, I doubt the function will be reinstated. I'm attempting to dwell on the positives for now...

Which would be great for the other sections of the forum...

I enjoyed the Like feature for several reasons my favourite was because it meant that if I agreed with someone or enjoyed the posting then they could know that it was appreciated and I didn't have to reply on the 30th page to a post that was on the 2nd...

I can understand both sides of that. You know how 'black and white' I am. Formality one moment and hyperactive squeaking the next.

Fun is important. Most of us are stoned most of the time after all. I'm keeping myself amused here whilst baked in bed at Grandma's as I'm too sore to do much today. You guys really do cheer me up with absurd comments sometimes.

And yes, Crypty, you are indeed humorous and a lady magnet.

The only reason I'm still on this site is to internet stalk Kuroi...

So as long as RIU doesn't get rid of her, I ain't going nowhere...

Yes I did, Crypt, but no one noticed. I had people PMing me thinking I was a man in my 50s or something, it was quite strange.

you kno we really should be using intelligence as an excuse , just cuz we are addicted to RIU and will not leave when the user experience changes slightly, does not mean we are intelligent just means we like RIU a LOT

Yeah, I flew off the handle. I don't care. This site has been going down for hours a day for the last week, and now they take away the Likes. This is stupid. I will retreat to other grow forums now.

I can take it or leave it. What bothers me more is making significant changes like that with no warning, or heaven forbid, discussion with the users. That latter part is entirely the owner's perogative but there should be some notice, some explanation of changes like that.

yeah I guess the like button was useful, like others have said, it seemed to be more of a quick response to a post without giving rep. for funny or spot on comments, really useful or intelligent answers that gave way to new information was more of a rep thing.

Sometimes I dont even notice when rep was given, but I always saw the new notification thing for the new likes.
