A couple of things about tap water and just strictly for FYI purposes.u lose some of the chlorine.. u wont lose it all.. and then the chlorimine stays cause it doesnt evap like chlorine.. so the tap water will still alter organic nutrients.. is what i was told.. fox farm being chemical and organic it really was made to be used with tap water so its not a big deal ..
Yes I do. The Mindbender grows tall and thin. So far Im not a fan. The Sage looks great and is starting to smell great as well. Day 24 of flower so we shall see what happens.didnt u say u had a mindbender and SAGE.. ???? u flowering them out? i just got a some sage clones.. sooo trying to find some people growin it but not much on the net about it . atleast not many grow journals with it .. that ic an find
With the aquarium drops are you adding anything funky to the water that could harm the plants? Is there any way that the chemicals in the aquarium drops could mess up the nutrients or enzymes in the plant? I dismissed that idea at first because I thought it seemed unnatural(I'm not trying to go for organic or anything I just didn't want to hurt my plants), but now it's starting to sound like I really ought to be using those dropsA couple of things about tap water and just strictly for FYI purposes.
With chlorine, the only thing that will get rid of chlorine is to allow it to effervesce. with cholramine, it is the clorine that is locked in with liquid ammonia which not only keeps the chlorine dissolved in solution, but is approximately 30 times more efficient (deadly) than chlorine by it's self.
To get rid of as much chlorine as possible in 24 hours it is recomended that you put the water in a container with the widest surface area possible. This is due to the fact that the majority of gas exchanges occur at the meniscus (the surface skin of the water.) so ripples on the surface is what you want so use an air line with a stone or a circulating pump with the output either fountaining or cascading to create ripples. it takes about 24 hours to do a 5 gal bucket.
With chloramine you first must break the bond between the ammonia and chlorine so the chlorine can go to atmosphere.
You can get a commercial solution from a pet shop or nursery with pond supplies.
The other way is to run an aquarium or pond and the bacteria (nitrosomonas) will feed on the ammonia and break the bond with the chlorine and convert the ammonia into Nitrite. In well established ponds or aquaria, the Bacteria (nitrobacter) in the substrate (rocks and soil and etc.) will convert nitrite into nitrate which is a great thing for plants.
lol well why not improve if the science makes sense?Ive never used them and never will. Why fix whats not broken?
