HELP! from an expert would be nice.

No you don't have to do anything else after you cut,

... 13w cfls?? Theyd get that much light through a window man, im not ragging on cfls but those ones are not for this, go back to walmart/lowes/hd wherever and get at least a couple 42w and use those if you want some real growth under cfls. Your plant is so small because it's not getting enough lumens to turn into energy

I agree with this guy, you need more light. even 26w CFL are pretty good but your going to want at least 4 of them right now and adding 4 more every 2-3 weeks until you have about 12 or 300w (actual wattage not incandecent equivelent)

i dont think you need any fertilizer right now. and for a month old that plant is way behind schedule. (being honest not rude)

as far as it developing roots and not focusing on foliar growth, that is true to an extent but within 1 week the roots should be nestled in enough to have vegatative growth starting and by 1 month the roots should be fully in place and the plant should be taking off.

as far as a fan stopping stretch, this is also true to some extent as the wind makes the plant focus energy on building stem thrength so the growth goes to girth and not height.

misting will not burn your plants due to magnification of light through the water droplets, thats just some retarded rumor that has been spread like a bad STD around here. the only time this is a threat is if it is in direct june/july/august sunlight and the leaves of the plant have small hairs on them, the hairs hold the droplet off of the leaf and the magnified ray can cause a brown spot. on a marijuanna leaf the droplet sits on the leaf thus the water keeps the leaf cool enough to not burn. try filing a water baloon with water and holding a lighter under it....same concept.

bottom line here is you need way more light. and until then you shouldnt be topping or anything because the plant cant produce enough energy to recoup from the stress training. more light and a small fan would do you justice, then you can think about nutrients.

what kind of soil are you using? it probally has plenty of nutrients in it already.

im using miracle grow it has time relased neuts and shit i already topped it does that mean its going to die? so its not going well is what your saying? how many lumens should you recommend for just one plant

It will be fine with the topping, lumen specifics will depend on your wallet, a 600w is around 90-95k lumens, if yours gonna do cfls i recommend getting enough to place in 3 points around the plant with at least 2 42w bulbs in a Y splitter at each point. Plants want a ton of light,

On another note if you have access to buy those tiny 13w cfls for a good price i recommend replacing all the lights in your house with em, i replaced all mine the month after i moved in, added the grow the second month and my bill barely changed maybe 10 dollars cause i dropped every normal bulb from a 60w incandescent to a 13w cfl

i doubt its going to die but you may not get the desired results right away.

like i said 300w of CFL's should be plenty to finish the plant but start with 100w for now then work your way up to 300w

and its not that it isnt going well you are just under equiped, fix the lighting and you will see a incredible change.

using MG soil you wont need to add any nutrients for a while.

you can get a 6 pack of them 13w 2700k CFL's at wal mart for like 50¢ great for home lighting not so good for growing.

you can get a 3 pack of the 26w "soft white" (2700k) CFL for $2.30 at wal mart.

you can get a 2 pack of 26w "daylight" (6500k) CFL for like $7.00 by far the more expensive lights so i would do a 3:1 ratio since you want the "soft white" for flowering anyways and they are cheaper. buy 1 pack of 6500k and 2 packs of 2700k this will run you about $11 for 8 bulbs and bring you up to 208 watts which is around 14,560 lumens (give or take)

good call, i would ditch the 13w CFL's comepletly and go with all 26w. also if you are on a budget dont bother with the 6500k CFL's as they are pretty expensive. they are considered a better vegatative spectrum but the plants will do just fine under the cheaper "soft white" 2700k CFL at the verry least get 4x26w CFL on that pant, you will see a noticabe difference within 2 days

sure thing, im subbed up and if you have any questions just ask.

just keep it simple and things should go well, alot of people on here hype this shit up to nonsense levels and it just confuses new growers. keep good lights on it and water and your plant will grow.

i dont know if you have a little cab for your plant or not but you can buy a wardrobe box from wal mart, home depot or a U haul store and just spraypaint the inside flat white and put the plant and lights in there you will get more out of your lights this way.

Would you say you are completely full of shit or just partially...

Do you know that lumens are for humans.

Plants see only specific wavelengths. (red and blue) with supplements of green yellow and orange to help with photosynthesis.

Lumens only make up for part of the PUR. (photosynthetic usable radiation)

Look into plant lighting and what plants see.

And Just FYI... 42 watt Cfls create more heat than light.

If you want efficiency and better lumens per watt. 23 w Cfls are where it's at

have you ever been swimming? water magnifies light which is why lighter skin tones burn more easily during a day of swimming. Now will his CFL burn the leaves with water droplets on it? prob not. but with a HPS or light of that magnitude it most certainly will.

im in sacramento and the sun is becoming pretty abundant. throw your lady in front of the window or patio door during times the light is vibrant then throw back under your CFL. just untill you can get more light.

Im not sure what your budget is but amazon has all kinds of good light systems for pretty cheap. I bought my 400 watt setup for 150.00 no tax or shipping costs. it came with the ballast (supports MH and HPS) reflector hood, 1 HPS bulb, 1 MH bulb, and a pair of yo yos to hang the light. n u can prob get one for a lot cheaper. just search

I use to do what your doing. I bought expensive grow bulbs and in the end I found that daylight tubes gave me the best growth in a balanced medium. So since your veggin' go with daylight if you can afford it.
