You have no idea how business works. Non-profits are never really non profit... even the "good" ones. They stash profits away through accounting misrepresentations, so when that rainy day hits, they can survive. This is typically to the benefit of the members, of the non-profits, as they collect salaries, some of which are a pretty penny.
There are non-profits who receive "aid" via taxes. That's an even more unjust way of operating a "non-profit", than what's stated above.
Business is a market, and non-profits are a business whether you acknowledge it or not. In markets, there are ups and downs, and if you think any market stays flat, well you're living in a different reality.... that's not how the markets operate on planet Earth. Doesn't take much intelligence to understand that either. A non-profit will never survive if it's breaking even every month... thus they hide profits. Accept or deny it, that's the reality.
Being that a business is one in the same, no they won't survive either if they break even with overhead continuously. Also, for one to think, that it's an ok way to maintain a business, operating that way, is ignorant and they will eventually fail as a result of operating with such ignorance.
