ive heard you can tell two weeks after planting male or female.
Two weeks after flower is induced that would be true, in veg however it can take a long time for pre-flowers to show. They might very well pop out sooner, but I'd think august would give you the most definite answers.

hey man im growing indoors and was wundring how many lants ud recomend 4 a 400watt hps.. space isnt really an issue but d electricity bill restrics me 2 a 400watt!!

and also.. how do you "lollipop" the plants? thanks man
Well for 400w you'd probably want to keep the growing space to about 8 square feet maximum. So in that space you could either fit 1 big LSTd plant, a dozen smaller, or you could fit alot of smaller Lollypopped plants...as many pots as you can fit in that space.

How to Lollypop - Lollypopping can be done anytime, it is basically removing all but the main (meri) stem, and any leaves attached to it. You will cut off ALL secondary growth, allowing for your plants to take up minimal room. Depending on your container size you could easily pack more than 1 plant per square foot when lollypopped. Grow bags are great for close-quarter grows, they allow a a few more plants to be 'squished' in.

Can you give me a list of the most neccessary ingrediants to growing outdoors.

ive got some compost ive got bat shit, about 30 earth worms, corn husks, cocunut, potato peels, banana peels, and then some apple pealings.

i seen a persons thread who seemed to know what they were doing but you had a little more insight.

Im upstate new york and growing outdoor. ive got the basic shit like the fence setup its in a hidden spot ive got the water source and all that but im talking about like ingrediants alot of people have like blood meal formula and nitrogen additions and CO2 emmisions and such.

So if you could just give me a list of what would almost guarentee a good crop id be muchly appreciated

Blood meal is good for outdoor gardens, aside from it's nutritional quality it seems to help keep some critters at bay. Outdoor growing is alot different in what you'll need to add, I for example have grown in native soil and had reasonably big harvests with no additives. To give yourself a head start you'll want a base nutrient mix, GH (General Hydroponics) AN (Advanced Nutrients) both have everything you could ever want. Look for the A+B formulas (2 part) to start off with, and then as flower approaches you can start looking into things like Big Bud, Bud Blood, and Overdrive (AN products)

CO2 supplementation isn't neccessary, the only way to get a significant improvement in yield is if CO2 is the photoinhibitor...which it won't be IMO Not to mention the fact that CO2 supplementation outdoors would cost a pretty penny...it's not worth the money, or the time.

thanks ive heard some rough stuff about the CO2 so i think im going to just leave that for more experienced and wealthier growers.

alright and that base nutrient mix i just put in with the compost? ive read alot about adding nutes but it hink its just with indoor so if could just answer that question i should be ready to plant

I just suggested nutes as you said you wanted the best yield possible, and proper nutrients will certainly help that along. You don't really need them though, if you're using compost (which sounds pretty fertile) your plants should get by on that just fine. The only problem is that you aren't really sure what exactly the PH is, or the PPM of the nutes in it. I just think for the best results a base nutrient mix woud go a long way.

Depends on how you grow them...you can definetely get great harvests off of 1 plant but the drawback is the extra time needed. The Lollypopping technique allows for minimal veg time, alot of growers will clone and then flower as soon as they see roots (or sooner) So if you have a mother plant growing you can start a perpetual grow...harvest every week or whatever you wish. Lollypopping is great for this because the plants can be easily moved around, put in, or taken out.

To grow one big monster plant takes more time, maybe a few months extra depending on the desired size. Only growing one plant also has other drawbacks...you have no "back-up" plants that way.

Growing outdoors isn't that much different than growing indoors, at least not fundamentally. Outdoor growing has the huge benefit of the most powerful light source we know of, unrivaled by any indoor grow. The "downfall" is that mother nature can be very unpredictable, and thieves seem to run rampid. What you need to do is get some good soil, you can mix it in with the native soil at about 1/2 and 1/2 for good results. Ferts is another matter, you don't need them as the native soil will likely have alot, if not everything the plant needs...that only applies if you choose fertile ground to grow in though. Watering is the main issue, but again...nature has provided solutions. Apart from rain water, which is undependable for optimal growth there is also streams, lakes, and rivers...again, you need to be somewhat aware of what is in them. There are also lots of auto-watering ideas out there, anything from rain-barrels, to naturally fed reservoirs.

The main thing is to start with good soil, get something well draining/fluffy to mix with the native soil (if possible)

thanks hubert man your really helping!! just one more question for now... how do i make a thread??
Okay...choose your forum, General Marijuana Growing, Indoor Growing, etc. Once you're 'in' the forum there should be a "New Thread" button about half way down the left hand side of the screen...it's small but it's there. Under the "Live Chat" link, it's the next thing down.

should i start gowing them in side or just gernamate the seed then put it outside
If you can start them inside do it...it will give the plants an early advantage, a stable environment is somewhat more essential for young plants.

im sure this has been asked before, so sorry for reposting, but what in your mind (Hubert) is the best soil combo for starting up some seeds. Im trying to learn how to grow so maybe a good mix for a beginner
Cheers

I use MG for my seeds once they sprout but if you have some used soil that is clean then you should use that because its cheeper then buying the stuff to make your own soil if your just starting
