Hep, I'm not going to argue my opinion of religion with you. I think people who DOGMATICALLY FOLLOW ORGANIZED RELIGION are not intelligent enough to know better...I also think peanut butter is nasty...Try to argue that peanut butter tastes good....Please....Not gonna change my opinion.

Well don't argue it then. Pretty simple. I have a different view than you and I said they're gullible. You told me no.

We have different opinions and I thought it was cool if I could tell you what I thought. I'm not trying to change your opinion.

Well, sorry, but I didn't change your quote to put words in your mouth.
No need to apologize, this isn't reality .

That meant that I think they're gullible and not stupid. Do you think people could have mistaken that for you? If so, I tried to prevent that by highlighting it in red.

It seems like alot of ppl still buy into the media hype that muslims are all terrorists just waiting to blow shit up. Thats ridiculous. Whoever supports this ludacris idea is ignorant im sorry. You cant generalize everyone in an entire religion.

Truth be told, people listen to the media and their TV's more than they listen to their own brains and instincts. It creates more of an uproar if every single person of a religious belief is targeted then just a few "bad guys". It makes people more likely to support war if they are completely against an entire race and religion.

Kind of a smartass, eh? Keep in mind, I didn't say I think people who believe in god or people who are spiritual are stupid. Only those who dogmatically follow organized religion. I do hope you can see the distinction, though with your eagernesss to argue, I'm not sure you do. Goodnight, Hep.

Religion was not intended to originally be used as a source of manipulation but rather a way to facilitate simple explanations for our ancient ancestor's paradigms. Through the use of social hierarchies and the power corruption the can occur when the majority of your society looks to you for their guiding answer is what corrupts men to wield religion and government as tools of coercion and deceit to achieve self gratification. Lord of the flies and what not... at least that's my 2 cents..

Have any of you ever spent any time around Muslims? They are some of the most peaceful and respectful people that I know. A married man wont even shake another womans hand. Do none of you realize that Islam is one of the biggest religions in the world, and that the terrorist extremist sects probably make up only 2% of its followers, even tho the media portrays it in another way...
Won't shake another woman's hand. Sounds like someone that will box a woman up and not let her out. JUST LIKE IN SAUDI ARABIA. I like to drive my own car-alone.

2% out of how many? I'm sure there are a lot of muslim nuts out there. You just confirmed it.

Under Islamic law, jizya or jizyah (Arabic: جزية‎ ǧizyah IPA: [dʒizja]; Ottoman Turkish: cizye; both derived from Pahlavi and possibly from Aramaic gaziyat[SUP][1][/SUP]) is a per capita tax levied on a section of an Islamic state's non-Muslim citizens, who meet certain criteria. The tax is and was to be levied on able-bodied adult males of military age and affording power[SUP][2][/SUP] (but with specific exemptions).[SUP][3][/SUP][SUP][4][/SUP] From the point of view of the Muslim rulers, jizya was a material proof of the non-Muslims' acceptance of subjection to the state and its laws, "just as for the inhabitants it was a concrete continuation of the taxes paid to earlier regimes."[SUP][5][/SUP] In return, non-Muslim citizens were permitted to practice their faith, to enjoy a measure of communal autonomy, to be entitled to the Muslim state's protection from outside aggression, and to be exempted from military service and the zakat taxes obligatory upon Muslim citizens.[SUP][6][/SUP][SUP][7][/SUP][SUP][8][/SUP]
So for the Muslim religion it's all about money. Figures.

That's a horrible analogy...
No it's not. I live not to far from Dearborn, I've witnessed it. I'm old enough that I fought for women's rights here in the USA, I'm not ready to go back into that corner.

I was told I could do this, I couldn't do that. Why? Because I'm a woman.

Oh, btw the way I love bacon.

Islamist militants in Mali have attacked one of the most famous mosques in the historic city of Timbuktu, residents say.
Armed men broke down the door of the 15th-Century Sidi Yahia mosque, a resident told the BBC.
The Ansar Dine group, which is said to have links to al-Qaeda, seized control of the city earlier this year.
It has already destroyed several of the city's shrines, saying they contravene its strict interpretation of Islam.
Ansar Dine spokesman Sanda Ould Bamana told the BBC that his movement had now completed nearly 90% of its objective to destroy all mausoleums that are not in line with Islamic law.
He said Sharia did not allow the building of tombs taller than 15cm (6 inches).
The new chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Fatou Bensouda, on Sunday condemned the destruction as a "war crime", reports the AFP news agency.
The UN cultural agency Unesco and Mali's government have called on Ansar Dine to halt its campaign.

  • Timbuktu was a centre of Islamic learning from the 13th to the 17th Centuries
  • 700,000 manuscripts survive in public libraries and private collections
  • Books on religion, law, literature and science
  • Letters between rulers, officials and merchants on issues such as taxes, trade, marriage and prostitution
  • Added to Unesco world heritage list in 1988 for its three mosques and 16 cemeteries and mausoleums
  • They played a major role in spreading Islam in West Africa; the oldest dates from 1329

Unesco has also expressed concern that valuable artefacts and manuscripts may be smuggled out of the region and has urged neighbouring countries to prevent this.
The 55-nation Organisation of the Islamic Conference said in a statement that the sites Ansar Dine had attacked were "part of the rich Islamic heritage of Mali and should not be allowed to be destroyed and put in harm's way by bigoted extremist elements".
The site of Sidi Yahia is one of the three great mosques of Timbuktu.
The door which has been smashed had been left sealed as it led to the sacred tomb of saints.
Some witnesses started crying when they saw the damage, AFP says.
Some local people believe that opening the door will herald misfortune.
Timbuktu owes its international fame to its role as a centre of Islamic learning, based in its three large mosques, in the 15th and 16th Centuries.
Timbuktu is also known as "City of 333 saints", which originate in the Sufi tradition of Islam.
Ansar Dine's Salafist beliefs condemn the veneration of saints.
The group seized control of Timbuktu in April, after a coup left Mali's army in disarray.
Initially, it was working with secular ethnic Tuareg rebels demanding independence for northern Mali's desert territories but the groups have recently clashed and Islamist forces are in control of northern Mali's three main centres - Timbuktu, Gao and Kidal.

I'm sure there are a ton of things you can take from multitude of religious texts and misconstrue them to support "terrorist idealizations" . Just look at the crusades, Salem witch trials, reconquista, ect. Hell if it wasn't for Martin Luther we'd still probably be following the "dangerous terrorist beliefs" of Catholicism

Kitman (Arabic kitmān كتمان "secrecy, concealment") is the act of paying lip service to authority while holding personal opposition.
............in other words..........how to be a subversive traitor in our society

1. "..devote to destruction all that they have. Do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey. "

2. "Happy is he who repays you for what you have done to us, he who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks."

3. “But of the cities of these peoples which {Allah} gives you as an inheritance, you shall let nothing that breathes remain alive, but you shall utterly destroy them."

4. "And when [Allah] shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them."

5. "And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword."

6. "Their children shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes! There houses spoiled, and their wives raped...Dash the young men to pieces...have no pity on the fruit of the womb, the children shall not be spared..."

7. "So [he] smote all the country of the hills, and of the south, and of the vale, and of the springs, and all their kings: he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as [Allah] commanded."

8. "We took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain."

9. "And [he] smote the land, and left neither man nor woman alive, and took away the sheep, and the oxen, and the asses, and the camels, and the apparel. And [he] saved neither man nor woman alive."

10. "Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the female children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves."

11. "But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me."

12. "And he brought forth the people that were therein, and put them under saws, and under harrows of iron, and under axes of iron, and made them pass through the brick-kiln: and thus did he unto all the cities of the children of Ammon."

13. “If a man finds a young woman who is a virgin, who is not betrothed, and he seizes her and lies with her, and they are found out, then the man who lay with her shall give to the young woman’s father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife because he has humbled her.."

14. "If his master has given him a wife, and she has borne him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out by himself."

15. "And if you see among the captives a beautiful woman, and desire her and would take her for your wife, then you shall bring her home to your house, and she shall shave her head and trim her nails. She shall put off the clothes of her captivity, remain in your house, and mourn her father and her mother a full month; after that you may go in to her and be her husband, and she shall be your wife. And it shall be, if you have no delight in her, then you shall set her free."

16. "Make ready to slaughter his sons for the guilt of their fathers; Lest they rise and posses the earth, and fill the breadth of the world with tyrants."

17. "If there be found among you... man or woman....who hath gone and served other gods and worshiped them, either the sun or moon or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded...then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman who has committed that wicked thing unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones till they die."

18. "Take heed to yourself, lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land where you are going, lest it be a snare in your midst. But you shall destroy their altars.."

19. "You will chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before you. Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you."

20. "Take all the heads of the people and hang them up before {Allah} against the sun.”

21. "They shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up!"

22. “And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.”
