Should the government, state or federal, outlaw objectionable thoughts?
I agree with you. For a whole bunch of reasons, your thoughts should not be subject to state control or sanction, yet they are.I don't think so. ~shyly peeks~ cn
"Hate crimes" are thought crimes, aren't they?I'm not sure how. That would require the state to have access to my thoughts. Uhm, do you know something that I don't? shock: or that I do? ) cn
so now we see the real reason you started this abortion fail of a thread."Hate crimes" are thought crimes, aren't they?
it depends if you're beating up a gay person simply because they're gay or beating a black man simply for the color of his skin..hate crimes, beating up someone of your own race is better than beating someone of another?
kicking the shit out of a hetero is better than kicking the shit out of the ghey
being just a dickhead heartless thug who beats up his own is better than being a dickhead heartless thug who beats someone different.
I'm thinking all shitkickings stem from hate but apparently not.
No they are very different. Ideas and actions are not the same and the concept of thoughts being criminal is a paranoid delusion."Hate crimes" are thought crimes, aren't they?
beating a person is bad for most any reason, I'm no less a victim if I'm white and straight than if I'm black and gay.it depends if you're beating up a gay person simply because they're gay or beating a black man simply for the color of his skin..
sounds like minority reportNo they are very different. Ideas and actions are not the same and the concept of thoughts being criminal is a paranoid delusion.
yes, it's not a hate crime if say a white guy gets into a fight with a black guy over say a parking spot or w/e.. there has to be an underlying reason for it to be considered a hate crime, ie, you got into the fight simply for the fact that he was black, or got into a fight with a gay person simply for the fact that they were gay..beating a person is bad for most any reason, I'm no less a victim if I'm white and straight than if I'm black and gay.
What if i don't know he's gay and I'm just beating him because he took my parking spot? is that better? or does the crime change once it's established he's gay.
Am I a bad person because I found this very amusing? cnoh I'm sorry racerboy, i understand what a hate crime is, I didn't mean to give that impression. I just don't think they are necessary to be labelled as such. An asswhipping is usually bad no matter the reason, making it about race/religion/sex seems nonsensical. At least we can still beat up fat people or short people without it having extra baggage attached to it.
Political correctness is doing the same damage to society as the moral majority movement that came before it. It's all based on feelings with no regard to logic. Sorry I can't sell you my beer, it's Sunday, here take it for free and drink up, that's legal.
Still trying to rationalize your racism and bigotry as something acceptable?Should the government, state or federal, outlaw objectionable thoughts?
Aren't you happier knowing you were raped spur of the moment and your attacker didn't plan it? Imagine how much worse you'd feel later knowing your attack was planned days, or worse weeks in advance. It would anger me knowing I was raped cause my attacker thought I was gay. See, without hate laws, crimes are no longer done for warm and fuzzy cute bunny reasons. I want to know a person wants to fuck me right there and now, because we are so gay for eachother! Who doesn't want that world?Am I a bad person because I found this very amusing? cn
