hey bud 
whats the best way to check the soils/grounds PH outdoors? do i want to take the soil and maybe add just enough water until i get a small runoff, and then use my ph pen?
the reason why i ask is because i want to put a couple plants into a spot were there are lots of adjoining pine tress and i think the ph might be too low because of this.

This plant looks pretty bad off an most likely will not make it have not said anything to the owner it is definitely stressed out max. yet ..... out of any bad should come a little good. and the good I can find is to learn.

You're right to be a little wary of pine trees, they are indeed acidic. To test your soil ph you need to do just what you said. Check the Ph of your water, run it through the soil, and then check it again. If you're water was 7 let's say, and then it's 6 when it runs through...then your soil Ph is 5.hey bud

I usually wait until around the May 24 weekend, that way you can be a little more sure you don't get too many more cold nights. If you've been growing them for a month though, you should be able to put them out a little sooner maybe...just make sure they are strong enough to wthstand winds and rains and such.
I'm not an expert leaf reader by any means, it could be alot of things. Boron kinda pops to mind, usually looks like a burn...eyewash contains Boron. But it is much more than likely a combination of things, I'd perscribe a good flushing...with 3x the amount of water than the pot holds. Even with defiencies a flush just helps everything even back out, if you have def. you could very well be locking, or nearly locking other elements out as well.
Intake near bottom, outtake at top...heat rises
Assuming you're trying to get rid of heat, not bring it in.

ahhh ic ic, i wouldn't have thought about it that way myself. i was just thinking add as little water to get enough runoff for my pen to register, and then go with that figure.. your way is more logical!!

Hubert it is very nice of you to offer your expertise and if you have any advice on these two questions it would be much appreciated:
1. A month into grow, the inside lining of my area is getting a bit grubby and I would like to change it. I have some mylar and am wondering if mylar would increase temperatures vs plain white lining.
2. I have noticed a bit of a funky smell coming from area and after investigating each plant in turn, have determined it is coming from the soil itself and is particularly noticable after watering. I have been using guano fertilizer and although it claims to be odour-free, wonder if this is cause of problem. It has given really good and noticable results and so I'm very reluctant to stop using. I have considered covering tops of pots with some kind of plastic sheeting with hole for plant stem and wonder what your opinion would be?

I got a question or 2 for you
I got 4 plants growing in a small 4foot high ,3 foot wide, 2 foot deep space, with my light 28 inches from the top of my tallest plant, I had temp issues until i put an oscillating fan in there and now everything seems ok, But i have to leave the door slightly open to let air in and out, It doesn't seem to make much of a difference though as they are short and bushy with lots and lots of side branching...
I cant get more fans,My biggest plant is 8 inches tall and VERY VERY VERY bushy with lots of bud sites, Do you think i should flower it yet? or let it get a bit taller.
Also, my other female is retarded, it grows all messed up and will have one part of the leaf deformed and the other will be ok, this has a good few bud sites too tho, do you think i should leave this under the light for 12 hours to flower it, and then cover it with a black plastic bag to stop the light getting at it?I don't think its gonna grow in any kinda uniform way so i was thinking i might aswel get some smoke off it and free some room in my grow room.

Youtube is full of stuff like that...but you'd get alot more information browsing through some journals I think.
I haven't used mylar myself because I think that it would raise the temps a bit, instead I use Panda Plastic...which cleans very easily.
Mmmm....the smell of rotting guano eh? LOL I don't know what to do about that, your idea seems good
Well....if you have a 4 foot high growroom, and you keep your light over 2 feet away, then your plant has already taken up almost half of the remaining available room....it might be time to train, or flower like you said. Your plants will most likely double, even triple in size when you flower them...so with the space you have, and the light distance, sooner might be better than later.

I am about to start a DWC in a plactic rubbermaid tub with rock wool and clay ball things. do i need to get a complete nutrient set
It sounds like you're using a nartural water source...yes? If so it may have alot of nutrients in it already, so keep an eye on the plants...you may not need to add nutes. Other than that...put them in the sun, if possible put them in good soil (like storebought) to mix into the native soil. Neem oil is great for keeping bugs at bay, and bone and/or blood meal will help keep alot of animals away.
Yes, you espescially need a full nutrient regime. DWC (Deep Water Culture) acts like any other hydro system when it comes to nutes...it will consume them pretty quickly. A 2 or 3 part nutrient mix would be fine, General Hydroponics seems popular with the hydro crowd.

I have a female who sprouted very late and never quite got healthy. She got very tall and never had any secondary branches. Would it be worth my time to transplant her to out doors after shes already 3 weeks into flowering? She is in dirt at the moment I live in a place where there is close to 15 hours of sunlight right now she obviosly is on 12/12 right now. Thanks for your thoughts
