Help!!!! over did flush..what now..

I'm running a water farm so its a drip system.. the top portion is a container with drainage holes at the bottom and its filled with hydroton. .. underneath there is a rez with 2 gallons.. an air pump, pumps into the bottom which pushes water up to the drip ring..

I was keeping the pump running 24 hours and i recently reduced to 12/12.. because it looked like it wasn't draining.. she seemed to be doing ok.. but it did look like she was begging to have deficiencies.. so then came the flush....

Last night i just decided to put her back to the 24/7 pump .. hopefully it will bring her back..

one thing i did notice .... her ph shot up .. it went in at 5.5... and u

Ok a water farm is basically a DWC with top drip, use the drip ring until roots hit the lower res then you can cut it way back or stop using it at all. Do you have a oxygen pump and stone in the res and are the roots in the res yet?

Not quite sure, but I think we're dealing with a flood and drain here from the sound of it. He mentioned something about his drain being slow, so he cut down the floods... hence, drowning roots, just like you said. From what I understand, in flood and drain systmes, the roots get much of their O2 from the pulling action of the drain, no?

Correct, I thought he stated he was using a water farm which is DWC then he said it wasn't draining so I thought flood and drain too I was confused lol.

Your problem is the drainage. I run florakleen and water for 24 hours every 4 weeks. Never a issue.

yes i have an airstone at the bottom and the dual pump pushes both the drip ring and the airstone.. the roots are at the rez.

You need to get a separate o2 pump to run the stone so when the drip ring is off the stone is still running oxygen to the water. If the air stone ever stops the plant will die from lack of oxygen in the water. If the roots are in the res just stop running the dropper and just run o2 pump 24/7 and you will be fine.

brilliant idea.. i would just need a piece to change the 2 outputs to 1.. i hope when she wakes up in an hour or so that something got better...

so pretty much because i changed the air pump from 24/7 to 12/12 was the beginning of demise since roots were in the water at the bottom of the rez..? this does make a lot of sense.. becase i did begin seeing differences within days of changing pump times..

brilliant idea.. i would just need a piece to change the 2 outputs to 1.. i hope when she wakes up in an hour or so that something got better...

That piece is a rubber band. Just take you air hose make a Z and band it. Air take the path of least resistance. Your stone in this case.

Yup the lack of oxygen is what caused your prob nothing more, you can run your dripper on a timer if you want but won't make much difference now that the roots are in the water, just make sure that stone is running all the time. Good luck and let us know if she gets better.

I have had it happen to me when a pump crapped out on me, roots didn't look to hot got black and nasty but it did come back and was harvested. How many days has the leaves been drooping?

are you sure your o2 pumps are working. droopy leaves are hardly a sign of florakleen, i have used it on numerous occasions and never have had problems like that! looks to me like other things are at play here ether drowning them or roots drying out.

I had no idea.. it was ten bucks... And iwas getting salt build up on my drip ring.. I won't use that anymore... So it's been 12,hrs.. with just the pump for the airstone...

If she was drowning..how will I know if she's going to pull through ?

Don't want to be a kill joy but looking at those leaves, they aint comin back. The plants might survive but the leaves are gone my friend. By the time they have repaired themselves, flowering will be close to over. I feel for ya.

Thank you.. I guess I'll know by tonight for sure... Will the buds get any bigger without all those leaves?.. will the new leaves be enough.. harvest WAS going to be around a month from today...
