Why does the Mormon Faith demand

I have enough faith in what is left of our Constitution to believe that anyone of almost any faith can preside over our country without leaving any permanent scars. I do see that Dominionism(which is not actually a faith in and of itself) could be dangerous. There are, after all, folks who believe that it is incumbant on us to hasten the end of days. Give one of these folks the football and we might all have a very real problem. I believe Palin is a dominionist.

unreasoning fear of people with religious beliefs makes you sound even crazier than Creflo A Dollar.

your absurd intimation that sarah pallin or mitt romney would launch the nuclear arsenal just to usher in the "end times" is not only ridiculous, but defamatory and sick.

im actually embarrassed for you right now.

Note that I excepted every other religion.

And then do a little earnest research on Dominionism and related "sects".

and if mitt were a catholic then you would rail against the liturgy, or any of a number of papal bulls spanning 1800 years of catholic dogma.

if mitt were an arwannite like myself you would claim he sacrifices children to crom cruach, or dances naked in the forest in praise of cernunnos

if mitt were a hindu you would declare he is a thuggee and thus plans to strangle congressmen to stave off the return of shiva, which is actually starting to sound like a good idea. Rhumal Scarves for everyone!

Mormons are freaks! I think anyone who believes there is a God is odd. to think there is some magical guy in the sky that created us and when we die we go to some magical place where we are in pure bliss and reunited with friends and family and live happily ever after for eternity is just down right insane! I think most people who really think that are in fear of dying and need some sort of fantasy land to get through the reality that we are here for a short time, then its Game over!

He only mentioned Sarah. Why all this Mitt talk? After all, as a Mormon Mitt's no dominionist. cn
In all fairness, I said that I couldn't see a dominionist with his finger on the button and then I said Palin was a dominionist, so it could be presumed that I was imagining Palin with HER finger there.

Are the two of us the only ones interested in those folks?

Don't tell the religious about this, they are putting money in the collection plate every Sunday cuz the Pastor told them they would get to heaven if they did, because God needs money and sells absolution.

Possibly. But Sarah is credible as a dominionist, but Mitt is very probably not. Iirc the Mormons are all about surviving the end times, not actually bringing them. I don't know why DrKynes is trying to make this about Mitt, unless it's to sneak the goalposts into a better angle for a shot ... cn

he drug up sarah pallin and "dominionism" to allude to the mormon "white horse" prophecies that claim that a righteous man will be president just before he is overthrown by the antichrist brining about the tribulations... fuck it. thats a TLDR in the making.

mormons have similar views on the end of the world as dominionists, but they do not seek the end's early arrival. they accept that it is inevitable and let god handle the details. canndo is conflating the evangelical dominionism with mormon theology, despite the two being very different.

mormons believe its gonna happen no matter what, dominionists want it to happen as soon as possible so they can see the emerald city and talk to the wizard.

The Unitarians are 0 for 3 ... not crazy, not Christy, and not a cult. They are a remarkably gentle society. cn
that was a joke, i love unitarian girls, they let you put it in their butts!

unitarians are cool, but they are quite wacky in their own way.

contrasting them with iglesia ni christo who nail themselves to crosses and do blooodlettings in the streets was the funny. but i guess it was a little too obscure.

umm... I'm openly gay and childless and have full support from my ward. I'm a medical cannabis recipient and have not been shunned or excommunicated. I also love the Tequila. There is a huge misunderstanding about the doctrine. Coffee, tea, tobacco and alcohol are warned against but it's up to the individual if they wish to imbibe, PLUS, we have provisions for medicinal usage. In other words. If it's medicine. It's allowed.

LOL We're not Amish we attend regular public schools or if you're rich, private schools. We do have Seminary for LDS students before and after classes. In college it's called, Institute.

We believe in large families, yes. But that's a personal decision between husband and wife. Mostly the wife.

He lies, he flip-flops, he cheats, he does a lot of things that aren't kosher in the LDS community and we are a religion of "by their fruits ye shall know them." He isn't a good example of Mormon ethics.

It's not an obsession. The only time I think of storing food is when I'm canning. Time to rotate the food storage. ::sigh::
SOOOO, you're a mormon. That answers a lot of questions I've had about you...... I wish I'd of known this back when we had our daily arguements, geeeeze a fucking mormon, no wonder!!!.

ohh my. bush was a rabid evangelical who let his religion run the country, started two wars as a new crusade to convert the mussselmen to christianity by the sword, and usher in the end of days by breaking the seventh seal with his idol with feet of clay legs of bronze ...

sounds like the only people who are that worked up about religion are the antireligionists and the jihadists.

you would not be allowed in my temple either. thats why they are called temples, not churches.

do you propose that anyone can simply walk into the vatican and take communion in saint peters basilica, or the sistene chapel? nope. you gotta make your bones in the organization and work your way up to the top.

buddhist temples do not allow visitors and the unitiated into the deeper areas of the temple, where they keep the harem of hot asian girls and the all you can eat BBQ buffet.

even the Hellfire Club didnt let just any asshole off the street come in. you had to be a member in good standing to get into the bacchanalia.

The Salt Lake Temple, operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is the best-known Mormon temple. Located in Salt Lake City, Utah, it is the centerpiece of the 10 acre (40,000 m²) Temple Square.

In the Latter Day Saint movement, a temple is a building dedicated to be a house of God and is reserved for special forms of worship. A temple differs from a church meetinghouse, which is used for weekly worship services. Temples have been a significant part of the Latter Day Saint movement since early in its inception. Today, temples are operated by several Latter Day Saint denominations. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) has 138 operating temples worldwide to perform Endowment ceremonies, marriages, and other services for both the living and by proxy in behalf of dead ancestors.
