Yeah the only thing I realized is I hope I have enough soil for'em... I think I have a 1.5ft3 or 2ft3 of roots (whichever the bigger bag is), some coco and light warrior... i think i'll have just enough... worst case I put'em in 1.5 gallons until I get more... not having enough soil on hand premixed is definitely getting to be an issue... next couple of months i will be having a lil extra money due to the timing of weekly pay dates (nov is a 3 payday month!)... so one thing I'm going to do is get a couple of more big trash cans and get super soil, full strength veg soil, and seedling/base mix going. Cost of the cans.. not too bad... cost of the dirt to put in'em... not cheap! oh will have one or two cans going for recycling dirt as well so I don't have to keep buying much eventually :) Luckily I have a storage unit... that shit is gonna smell. Not gonna be cheap... gotta get a compost bin going... lot to do... :)

So here we are at the end of day 14... week 2 down... everyone in full flower, though i always wish they looked like day 28 by week 14... i know they'll be filling out soon... just so impatient :) I'm going to move the shelf/plants a bit closer to the lights.. still haven't dropped the light yet but going to maybe in an hour or so when it's almost night time for them. So yeah it was cold as fuck when I first went in there last night.. 65 with lights on... gets up over 80 before they go to sleep.... hope that's enough to bring out a color change not seeing much yet in the stems (unlike the one purple male I found that had purple stems :( )

Repotting the cuts into bigger pots today... clones and veg plants will have 2 weeks til they go into flower

Just moved the HPS down around 1'... and moved the shelf forward about 7-8" so lights are a lot closer to the plants now... i'm gonna move the LEDs down a bit as well probably tomorrow.

Owl what I'm using to hang it now is pretty flexible (hooks and a bungee cord) :) Now a vertical light rail might be a difference maker though... researching

OK, not much out there in the way of vertical movers other than DIY... but after thinking about it, I think my grow could benefit substantially due to the long 6' shelves by having a light mover... it's on the list now :) definitely the plants on the ends of the 6' shelves do not get as much light as in the middle...

Although what you are about to see is a work of fiction, it should never the less be played at maximum volume.

Just realized I won't be able to pop 20 seeds per month... forgot about cuttings... if i popped 20 seeds per month i'd have to take care of 40 seedlings at a time PLUS cuttings... no way! So looks like it's gonna be 20 every 2 months :( So only 6 pheno hunts per year. Guess I'll save on seeds :) I also figure once my daughter moves out (it's looking like it may actually be november *crossing fingers please please please*) i'll be able to move all the grows to the room where she's in, compartmentalize them, and then run a drip irrigation system from the adjoining bathroom's water line. Only thing I have to do is make sure it does not flood ;) Gonna be sweet when my grow is up there that is where I always planned for it to be... will do a bit more permanent sheeting job (maybe even a wood frame) and zipper doors... ventilation will be an option as well which will be nice, although it's the coldest room in the house a lot of the time.

Here in Austin they sell what they call 'Dillo dirt'... which is just composted human fecal sludge from the austin sewar system. Good for the yard... interesting question: why are there varying levels of acceptance of growing your plants in shit depending on where the shit comes from :) should it mentally make a difference to me that the decomposed shit comes from a human and not a bat, worm, or some other animal? no... does it? yes. i have a range of feelings about almost every kind of shit for each animal as to which one's i'd put on my plants before others :) For example I'll shovel bat shit and worm shit into my soil all day long with no second thoughts about it... cow or horse shit? good enough for the yard but i'd think twice about putting it in my pots... and dillo dirt would probably be last... there is a strange correlation in my mind of 'the better i feel this shit is for my plants, the more ok it is to smoke bud grown in this kind of shit without thinking much about it' :) i'm guessing if a story came out tomorrow proving that composted human shit was the be all and end all for growing weed, i'd probably think it was the best shit since sliced beatles all of a sudden and would have no second thought about smoking turd-bud. Do I think of the weed I smoke now as turd bud even though the soil has multiple kinds of shit in it already? nope :) cuz that's good shit :)

I would NEVER use dillo dirt! Not in my lawn, garden, weed field ;), nor any other place...
I draw the line at any meat eater dung.

The US was selling this Sludge stuff to South America to use on their farms. All of the crops died of horrible diseases. I stopped buying bagged soil from HomeDepot because it all contained Sludge. I do not know if they stopped adding it now or if they just are not putting it on the label any more. Now I get ProMix from my local Farm store. The stuff is better than Sunshine #4 and way cheaper :)

And a good majority of the US's produce gets imported from South America.

Backyard produce is the way to go!

I used dillo dirt on my yard before... did not see any great improvement or negative effect... not near as good for grass as cow poop.

Update: Sun up, day 16 12/12. All the plants getting a nice little layer of resin/trich forming on the buds and the leaves around'em... looking dank so far :) It's early, but one AoS is looking like it may be a bigger yielder/faster pheno -- it's noticably bigger/more full bud development than the other 3 AoS (and other plants). It's already looking close to 21 days in bud development.... so that's exciting... would be great to get a big yielding super potent black cherry pheno :) although odds are the potent pheno is gonna be the smaller yielder... i'm gonna ask over in sub's forum about phenos. It's finally starting to get exciting... they will get fed in the morning, and i'm sure after that pheno they're all going to start transforming from popcorn into the starts of true bud development like the one Ace of Spades is. I would definitely be happy with a big yielding early finisher (so i can start smokin' this crop ;) ). Hurry up Ace of Spades -- you're my only hope. Although, from the quick look I gave them, it appears the CheeseQuake in the 5 gallon had the best early trichome formation. I didn't get to give them an in depth inspection though... that'll come tomorrow morning when I water them and take pics... also going to do some tieing down to tran the buds more evenly towards the light.

The veg plants are really taking off into full veg... they're gonna be big if I wait 2 weeks... about the same size as this batch if I wait another week before 12/12... but I really need to give the cuttings at least 2 weeks before flower... 2 weeks puts harvest REAL close to leaving for christmas.... meaning they'd probably get cut early... grrr. Gonna have to drive to through several states with a pound of freshly dried bud in jars curing :) here we go again... if I put them into flower weekend after this one coming they can only go 9 weeks tops before they have to get cut...

Just watered/fed... everyone's looking good and thickening up... think that thicker bud i saw may have actually been genius x deep chunk not ace of spades... oops

Got a crazy branching apollo (branching out everywhere) with good looking buds... could be the yielder... if the high's there, could be the keeper :)

Everybody's looking good though. Took a vid, might post it later.

Watched the first few minutes but will finish later and let you know what i think.. looks interesting :)

So the frost is starting to come on... i'm surprised how good of still shots my video camera takes... i bet it should take some good ones in natural light once the frost really comes on... was worried the pics would suffer without my old camera but they look as good. My little buddy joined me for the pics...

The new crew, including the fresh cuttings... so far no signs of new growth or any change... a tinge of yellow on one of the cuts hopes that's not a bad sign... i gave'm a tiny bit of water+light compost nutes this morning just to make sure they got something fresh into the root zone (like maybe 6-8oz water) - the veg plants are doing great -- I retopped some of them to control height... one of them is going to have 14 colas! :) Have I been taking care of my void x grape apollo? Well let's just say it still has it's petioles green! It definitely has some querkle it's a slow grower - let's hope for some super grapiness.

No problem. I love ted talks and that one really struck me. I have not incorporated it yet but plan to at my new place. I too am looking at going to aquaponics and hopefully bioponics. Hopefully I can reduce our eliminate buying fish food for tilapia. As it is their fish food is not sustainable bc it is made from wild caught fish.
