the policy of advertising and promoting foodstamps, medical programs , welfare and other " social safety net" programs is an indictment of the bureaucracy and liberalism in general, of which Barry Seotoro is the current Brahmin In Chief.
the california welfare advertising blitz must be placed squarely at the feet of Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown, as well as his inane cuts to programs for the needy, so he can have his dopey white elephant choo choo train.
with the curent budget cuts, the only way the bureaucracy (and the legitimate dedicated members of the social services organizations) can protect the funding they do still get is to use every dime of it, so they dont get "rightsized" in the next budget fiasco for 2013 (that budget if trends continue should be ready about 2030). By spending every dime they have in the kitty they wont get baseline budgeted into nothingness next year.
but i suppose the choo choo train between LA and SF will be terribly popular with the residents of oakland and compton. their travel needs are not currently met by the intercity bus lines, the highway system, caltrain, amtrak, and the Soul Plane (i had to throw that in so you would know i was still racist)
liberalism itself allows the strtatification of siociety into those who are recipients of government largesse, and those from whom that largesse is extracted. and in the current climate the welfare programs just arent moving big enough numbers to justify their budgets so they can either get more butts in the seats, or get cut back with Moonbeam's budgetary chainsaw to fund an additional luxury dining car on the Lexus Liberal Express between Malibu and the Wine Country.

Those assholes at Paramount replaced the original models with CGI when they released the HD-DVD of TOS. It's a good thing HD-DVD lost, the Blu-ray release contained both CGI and original models.
