You're a moron. Not going to reply to the rest as I said I wouldn't, but I would like to rip apart your incorrect opinion of engineers. BTW, my ignorance, (oh wait, I'm an engineer!), yeah thats right..your claims that lightbulbs razors and saw blades only wear out because they are designed to do so is ridiculous, ignorant and retarded. bringing up fictional glass swords and glass gears as a reductio ad absurdum is some of the weakest shit i have ever seen, engineers (real ones) are constantly working to make shit MORE DURABLE and MORE EFFECTIVE.
We are capitalists as well idiot. You do understand that part of my job is running through the math so that when I sell a product warranty, I'm statistically going to MAKE money, PROFIT, off of that Warranty? Warranties are just a warm cozy feeling for the consumer, but in reality are a cash cow for the engineer. Nothing like getting money for nothing.
No you don't understand that because you seem to think consumer products are held to the same engineering standards as military grade products. LOL
You deaf buffoon, listen. Lightbulbs ARE designed to fail after 1000Hours, it even SAYS SO on the box they are supplied in.
Razors, like Shick disposable razors, ARE MANUFACTURED to only last 1 shave. So you have to buy another, hence making it "disposable". They are NOT made to the same standard as a well made barber blade. Have you ever even used a disposable razor?
You are one of the most ignorant, incorrect, arrogant people I've met. Almost everything you say is COMPLETELY WRONG.
Lastly, @ RED:
Yeah, FOR THEIR COMPANY, or the company THEY ARE WORKING FOR. Not for the consumer. It's called supply and demand, but you wouldn't know what that is because your ignorance. If they can sell a product that cost less to manufacture, for the same profit, they do so; let me lay this out for you again; if they can make the product cheaper, inherently resulting is less quality, they DO.
Freaking rent-a-engineers
They have episodes of "Deadliest Warrior" on Netflix which demonstrates blades that can cut through 3 large pig torsos, thus equivalently having the capability of cutting through 3 human torsos. Check em out.Yes, but you got to assume a zombies body is going to have more of a gelatinous texture. I think a bad ass samurai with a super sharp blade could do 5 bodies. Not completely unfathomable imo.
Peace
Salt
I forgot which blade it is, but I've seen a few documentaries on it, showing the manufacturing process, as well as the micro-structure and material characteristics. The blade has a "shark tooth" like structure, that leads to the "shark teeth" fracture away, instead of the blade dulling, so that is has a self sharpening effect.
