I'm out to get baked. I'm alleviating my symptoms of boredom and depression and want to get high. Nothing wrong with that at all. And sorry but most people who have a medical card dont need it to "medicate"I've never referred to it as medicating when it comes to my own personal use, But I really respect those that have chosen to call it such.
They're giving it more meaning than stoners ever have. That's why we're seeing a bigger outbreak of modern day people using cannabis for medicinal purposes. They don't want to tell people they "get high" or "get stoned". Because they're not after the "high" they're after being medicated for whatever symptoms they're using it for. Even if it's as simple as helping the person sleep, They're medicating. I wouldn't call taking Ambien "suckin' down some Amb's man" I would say I'm medicating myself to sleep. Same thing with Cannabis.
I'd rather see the terms "I'm getting high" or "I'm getting lit" disappear way before I would want the term medicating to stop being used as widely. Let's face it here, We're on a path to full legalization and if you show up looking like and sounding like what the world has painted a dumb stoner to look and sound like, You're not going to benefit anything.
You compared alcohol(ethanol; manufactured substance) to a plant indigenous to this planet. If that's not flawed I have no idea what is.@fb360 Ok, I'll play. You've repeatedly said my logic is flawed. Would you please list any and all logical fallacies I've commited? I'm obviously an idiot, so you might need to use some propositional logic to get it through my thick skull. "At the end of reasons comes persuasion"- Wittgenstein.
Each time I stated your logic is flawed I gave the exact reason for saying such. Go back and read why.@fb360 Ok, I'll play. You've repeatedly said my logic is flawed. I agree about too much "medical" abuse. Thanks to "chronic pain", I might qualify if I try real hard (and spend money). I feel that would be cheating the system though, so I won't try. However, since becoming a daily mj user, I am no longer a daily acetaminophen user. I think it is a good trade off.Just because something makes you feel good doesn't make it medicine. I guess I could start referring to Johnny Walker Black as "medicine" cuz I feel better when I drink than when I don't. I'm sure that 95% of you people that "medicate" don't need it and if you argue that it helps with anxiety, etc. Well, they make pills for that. Marijuana is for people with AIDs, Cancer, Fibromyalgia and so on.
MedicalI think in order to get marijuana federally legalized for recreational purposes that we need the states to not get involved with "medical" marijuana legislation. Because once we label it as medicine it will always need a prescription to obtain. But if we just skip the whole medical marijuana and just prove to everyone that it is harmless then we will get what we need passed through. Medical users and recreational users can all have access together! If you need to self medicate, then, go ahead, But you don't need to go to a doctor for it. We screwed up starting it out as "medical" in the first place. Hopefully Washington and Colorado pass the weed test with flying colors!
Money is a deciding factor with EVERYTHING. If money can't be made, legislation won't be passed.Medical
-FDA regulated
-Big Business dominated
-Goverment taxed and regulated
-Doctor approval needed
legal to possess and grow
Illegal to sell
None of the above is needed
Decrease in crime enforcment expendituresMoney is a deciding factor with EVERYTHING. If money can't be made, legislation won't be passed.
Well for starters, if you were big pharma would you be ok with your patients giving up their meds for a plant they can grow at home for next to nothing?Decrease in crime enforcment expenditures
Money saved
Why would anyone have a problem with someone growing a stash only for themselve?
It is the epitomy of harm reduction
Thanks for illustrating my point that Medical Marijuana is the bullet fired into the footWell for starters, if you were big pharma would you be ok with your patients giving up their meds for a plant they can grow at home for next to nothing?
Isn't that what they did in Washington? You can possess it but not grow it. Basically giving the torch to big tobacco. Thanks for illustrating my point that Medical Marijuana is the bullet fired into the foot
And making it fully legal to possess and sell is just the door being cracked open for Big tobacco to come and and lobby for regulations about licensing grows
Want to grow weed? All you need is a License for 500k and have the USDA inspect you and have facilities that are up to your goverments standards. Plus mandatory lab testing for THC and CBD content. Proper labeling. Etc etc etc
Washington should of voted No , , and waited for the right bill to vote on ,Well for starters, if you were big pharma would you be ok with your patients giving up their meds for a plant they can grow at home for next to nothing?
Another example would be Washingtons legalization effort. It's all find and dandy right, you can grow a plant now that it's legal right? Wrong. You can't. It's still illegal to grow. The only way to legally grow is with a MMJ card.
