straight into soil. When did you put the cutting into soil? Did you soak the cutting before placing it in the soil or did you just put it directly in? I have had great success with cloning not using rooting hormones but I soaked the cutting first in ph'd water. Did you remove any leaf sets before putting the cutting into soil?
I can't believe it...that's a sad terrible first grow experience....I still don't think its weedugly plant was grown in mud/clay so it needed three transplants. everytime, i fucked the root ball up.
i was watering it wrong the whole time. i was making the soil really wet when it should only be damp.
i was feeding it chemical vigoro every other watering, which hurt it during veg.
it had no lights for a week during hurricane sandy.
then when i finally fixed it up..i dropped a shoe box on it one night when i was drinking and decapitated it..

OK, I'll quit for a while.straight into soil.
what do you mean leaf sets? the only leaf sets that are there are the ones that are sitting on the soil. should i cut them off and bury the stem more? also why do people cut the tips of the veg leaves off? whats the purpose?
bakatare, dude, please stop spamming my thread. i dont want this to turn into the typical 1000 page troll zone. i want help in here.
When I clone I take the cutting under a leaf set that I intend on cutting off and putting under the soil. I use a razor blade take the cutting at a 45 degree angle, then I cut the leaf set off even with the main stalk above my 45. I then soak that in ph'd water for about half an hour, then I place the cutting into the soil all the way up to the next existing leaf set. The leafs touching the soil will not hurt anything I plant everthing as deep as I can (until the first leaf set is touching the soil). I have taken well over a 100 clones and succeed about 90% of the time which the other 10% is strain dependent, I have had similar results with rooting hormones.straight into soil..i roughed up the stem that went into the soil though, like a friend told me to do.

I promise if u send this pic to high times it'll make an issue...n be the star of some crazy article....this is what u get when u cross a tomato plant w a weed plant....u can smoke or eat the "fruit".....haha....if u can remember the fruit flower arguementHere, let me help.View attachment 2507997
Cutting the leaf tips is an attempt to get the cutting to focus in root growth rather than canopy growth, IMO this is not necessary and is undue stress mine usually throw roots in 7-10 days but I have had strains take 15-20 days.straight into soil.

good info, thanks. should i cut those leaves and bury the stem more, or leave it? ive only got about half an inch of stem in the soil. When I clone I take the cutting under a leaf set that I intend on cutting off and putting under the soil. if i remove those two tiny nodes, ill have about an inch in the soil. is half an inch enough? how does it work? will the roots only grow at the stem thats in the ground, or will it grow a taproot out of that stem and grow down into the cup?
Yes cut the leaves and burry the stem more. When the cutting starts to root it will sling roots out of the areas where you removed a thin layer of tissue. Roots will most likely develop where you removed those leaf sets as well. I would recomend using peat pucks sometime in your cloning experiments so that you can see how the root system develops, by noting the root growth that exceeds the confines of the puck. After you remove that leaf set soak it in some distilled water for a little bit and it should throw roots, just don't be discouraged if it takes a few weeks to root.good info, thanks. should i cut those leaves and bury the stem more, or leave it? ive only got about half an inch of stem in the soil.

I don't think you want to use a clear cup because the roots will be exposed, I'm sure its not going to be an issue and I'm no expert. Why don't you stop finger fucking your plants and just let them grow?i used a clear cup to see if the roots grow or not. will keep you updated.
Liked that graphic, showed it to the wife.OK, I'll quit for a while.
Here's some help for you before I go though.View attachment 2508006

lmfao he asked that same question every page ... what happened bmeat??? I thought you knew it all?? Stop giving out advice. Throw your plants in the garbage and just buy weed.. your torturing all those innocent plants.should i cut those leaves and bury the stem more, or leave it? ive only got about half an inch of stem in the soil.
Not sad at all, it's the only part of the plant that won't die a slow agonizing death. This should be merciful and quick.here goes the clone experiment..kind of sad i had to sacrafice a limb.
Leaf tips are cut on clones to get energy directed to growing the roots.straight into soil.

I keep wanting to steal your sig and change it to bmeat and grow instead of sing. Not sad at all, it's the only part of the plant that won't die a slow agonizing death. This should be merciful and quick.
And where did you find the pictures in post #7 ?
