I don't agree with the snitch comment it is not wrong to help stop suffering! you wouldn't allow this to happen to a child without doing something about it and a dog is just as dependant.
I can't believe the op (padawanker) isn't hanging his head in shame, you video'd that poor animal tied up that tight and didn't do anything about it? that chain link is easily cut there is no excuse it is a barrier not a wall, people who stand by and allow things like this to happen make me fucking sick! I mean seriously they have no excuses, it's a chain link fence, the dog can be seen by everyone around it! you could easily befriend the dog before rescuing it and if you don't have the balls to do that you should be phoning the police and any other authorities that will listen and keep hounding them until they sort it out for the poor dog! my vote and personal course of action would probably be violence as I hate cruelty with a passion, I've fought over animal cruelty before and I'll be damned if I wouldn't do it again.

I called local PD and asked them to send a car by. I heard the guy talking to them outside my window 10 minutes later and haven't heard the dog since
It's also an abused 70lb + pittbull, it barks and snarls just looking at me. I'm pretty sure I mentioned early on in the thread something about stealing it

There is no excuse you have chain link fencing between you not solid walls, you could easily have spent time befriending the dog and giving it treats so that it knew you were friendly, stealing is a strong word to use when you may possibly be saving it's life! I read every comment in this thread and you seemed alot more concerned with being woken up than you did the health of the dog, when you saw the own approaching the dog you should have atleast shouted over to him whether he understands or not he will atleast know someone is keeping an eye on how he treats his animals, it's because of spineless people like you these arseholes get away with treating their animals like that in public! in the video the poor thing was trying to lift himself up because he was tied up to tightly! No fucking excuse for not doing something there and then! also you say you phoned the police? when they came by and you heard them talking why didn't you go out and show them that video and explain to them how badly the dog had been treated for days on end? that would have atleast given the officer more power to push for better treatment and here what the guy had to say (excuses) the more evidence the officer had the more he could of done for the poor thing.
Those that stand by and allow abuses like this to happen over such a long time frame are as bad as those committing the acts, you had the power to stop it and never! weakness is not an excuse, you should be holding your head in shame.
I hope the shame stays with you so that if you ever see it happen again it may empower you to grow a back bone and do the right thing.

When my female dog went into heat I had to keep them seperate. My neighbors proaly felt like you for a little while cause I would rotate putting one outside and one inside . He would howl and whine his ass off when I would put him out. You would have thought I had a wolf in my backyard lol

Agreed, kids, seniors, and animals, are to be protected at all costs. I lose my mind when someone hurts the defenseless. When I was a bouncer, I also hated the big kids picking on the little kids, or being abusive to women (unless they were together, then it's her option to leave).
