Why are dj short genetics so expensive?

I mean all of that money can't funnel into research in development because he hasnt put out a new strain in years, seems a little greedy to me even if you cut his prices in half, im not quarreling that his strains arent any good, i look to them specifically to find variegated genotypes but to me thats all their worth

anyone know what these breeders do with all the cash? im kinda tired of people who care more about making money than the joy they get out of creating something useful for generations to come

i think that some breeders dont understand what it means to give back to the community, or that they are preying on growers who they know have alot of cash.

And what is wrong with him making profit or hell even getting rich? Maybe you should look to the CEO of pFizer who makes $18,000,000 for running a company that POISONS people?

And if it really bothers you then why don't YOU get setup to grow thousands of plants and create better strains and sell enough to cover cost and pay yourself oh lets say $1000/wk and give away the rest of the seeds to indigent mmj patients who grow for themselves? Or take lets say 30% of your income and buy seeds for them now? Well until you do, shut the fuck up

Curious why the op has singled out DJ exclusively, all of his strains are under $130 for ten regs. Why not gripe about Dr. Greenthumb with his 5 fem seeds for $150, or 2 fem G13 for $200. Doggies Nuts Seeds are crazy priced, 2x or 3x DJ's prices. The Doggies Nuts Seeds Armageddon x Sirius Skunk is $740.92 for 10 fem beans, 10 regs cost $428 but they're sold out.

Like I said b4 it's supply and demand at the end of the day ..blueberry is prolly the second most whored out strain next to skunk #1 ..for a good reason ..dj can charge whatever he likes ..it would be nice to see a price break once on a while or even a another cheaper offering so more people can try his beans ..but hey we can only hope

I've never bought a pack of DJ's seeds in case you were curious, but the best blueberry I have sampled was selected from his packs.

I read the thread and you jumped into jesus...I love my life..I am retires for quite a while now made my $$$ establishing companies then seling them for profit...I now grow and test strains for a couple of dispensaries and then advise them how to bring up their quality...am paid handsomely for it and donate all I grow and test for them to indigent mmj patients ...I grow in another climate room paid for by me for myself and being I prefer sativas and the mmj patients indicas I give them all the indicas and grow sativas at my expense for myself

yeah you should have a winner there, kinda sounds similar to the raspberry cough strain nirvana made its a real good smoke i believe its cambodian landrace x ICE, yours sounds very similar, the hybrid should make it able to grow indoors with an easier timeframe in minde, but im more referring to an f1 consisting of 2 landraces and not an indoor landrace/skunk f1

not 2 landraces from the same continent, but im sure its not terrible anything of ace seeds usually never is, im doing something with their erdpurt and gonna buy a pack from herbies before they are sold out like on pick n mix

I've done blueberry descendants like lowberry from dutchbreed, im working autos and would like to bring dutchbreeds lowberry a gen 2 auto to gen 3 before making a final fourth cross to another genotype, im just trying to lock down more blueberry to be available in the final cross aswell as being an autoflower, i plan on purchasing a 10 pk of cocoa kush and vanilluna, select for variegated phenotypes cross the the lowberry inbreed til full auto then make my final cross. Im sure for my purposes they are worth they money, as i would probably pay double(but dont tell him that) I see DJ as being the most overrated for the price, i think the ratio of quality : price is way out of whack and that seeds shouldnt cost the customer more than 3$ per, not because i can't afford the more expensive seeds, but because i know there are people out there that can barely afford their medicine. and with people like dj charging and arm and a leg to people that literally dont have an arm or a leg seems morally unjustifiable, i hope this in depth explanation of my purposes satisfies your quandries

as long as i can find a variegated pheno of each vanilluna and cocoa kush i am a happy man, this is the trait i am most intreagued in finding, and if DJs genetics are worth the price in the 1st place it shouldn't be hard to find something worthy of replication in the f1 seedrun of each, where i will have more to select from, but yes ill let you walk away with an undeserved sense of self accomplishment, that is if you can accept this criticism i will never hear from you again

maybe next time you offer helpful advice rather than trying to mirror your insecurities onto an online forum

i have grown 5 of his strains, loved them all. his stock grows best with low nutes "cheaper". holding mothers and working lines for 20yrs cost $$ and it is risky. Grow your $3 a seed and when you look at the 6 months all your expensive equipment/power took to get low quality bud it will hit you. dr.gt swerve and others that put very little time/effort into strains that hermie charge more. show off your cheap stuff so you can teach ppl how to do it. show us how you created a blueberry line kept itfor decades and want to share it with everyone for $3. I win the stanley cup on my couch every yr, simple.

thanks to everyone who had a positive answer, this post was merely to point out that vegetable seeds pack of 20 costs like 4 dollars and pack of mmj seeds costs like 100 see what im sayin?

kinda seems like a monopoly, it's not that hard to put a production room into full scale seed and thats many seeds

i just see an even bigger opportunity for them to supply in numbers rather than being greedy and who cares if the profit margin suffers its not really about that anyways, o well when will they ever learn?

When you start selling vegetables for 10-20 bucks a gram, their seeds will go up in price as well.

Not that I am defending DJ prices, I personally wouldnt spend the money on it. His name is big because he did some good work many years ago. Plenty of strains just as good for much cheaper these days.
