jared loughner went to the safeway parking lot in tucson with two 33 round magazines. The principal of the CT shooting lunged at the shooter in an effort to stop him. Did not end well did it. Now, if the principal had a gun, the bullets could have dont the lunging instead, ending the shooter where he stood.
Similarly, the passengers on 911 that disobeyed the pacifist masters attacked the terrorists, and brought the plane down in a feild, instead of the Capitol, which was its intended target. If even 1/5 of the passengers on those planes had a gun on them, (the approximate ration of armed permit holders), I have no doubt that all the planes could have been lost, but those buildings would have gone untouched.
i'm familiar with the post, what part of me giving you hints about the details of marbury v madison is insulting? i was trying to be helpful.Post #137.
Why limit mags at all. The shooter by your own admission had a higher cap mag than you would have people carry. I can drop an empty mag out of a gun and reload it before the empty one bounces at my feet.jared loughner went to the safeway parking lot in tucson with two 33 round magazines.
people on the scene with concealed carry permits did not want to be mistaken for the shooter, so their guns did not prevent the tragedy.
loughner was only stopped when he went to change his magazine, that is when people tackled him to the ground.
had the brady bill still been in effect, he would have only fired 10 bullets before he was stopped.
instead, he fired 33 round before he was stopped.
the 13th bullet killed a little girl.
but hey, we can't limit the capacity of magazines to 10. that would so dearly inconvenience target shooters.
that little girl had to die because you don't understand the constitution.
i will be completely honest with you Buck. People like you are the people who stay behind the computer with their views and opinions. The reason for this being....people would beat your ass for talking in such a disrespectful and pompous way. I made this thread for reasons other than what you have offered up today. Please take your tree hugging ass to www.butthurtpoliticalrejects.com.that is delusional.
it took the full military force and might of several nations combined to stop the nazis, a few scattered jews with guns would have made no difference.
listening to your take on history is comical.
so i give you empirical evidence of how lives would be saved not with more guns and higher mags, but with reasonable magazine restrictions, and you ask why limit mags? Why limit mags at all. The shooter by your own admission had a higher cap mag than you would have people carry. I can drop an empty mag out of a gun and reload it before the empty one bounces at my feet.
Of course, someone willing to shoot a congresswoman in the head, or open fire on a bunch of elementary students would have begrudgingly complied with a maximum magazine capacity law.Why limit mags at all. another internet tough guy.i will be completely honest with you Buck. People like you are the people who stay behind the computer with their views and opinions. Your opposing views on constitutional issues are one thing...however your hateful and disrespectful attacks are another.
So as a simpleton would say.....Fuck you asshole, kick rocks!
all of his magazines were purchased legally by his dad.Of course, someone willing to shoot a congresswoman in the head, or open fire on a bunch of elementary students would have begrudgingly complied with a maximum magazine capacity law.
Delusional indeed.
Would you have attacked him when he paused to reload?so i give you empirical evidence of how lives would be saved not with more guns and higher mags, but with reasonable magazine restrictions, and you ask why limit mags?
what part of the 13th bullet killed that little girl don't you understand?
loughner was only stopped when he went to change mags. people would have lived had he not been able to fire those last 23 rounds.
Not so much really. He would have just gotten the mag from the streets at a lower price than at the store.all of his magazines were purchased legally by his dad.
had the brady bill been in effect, he would have showed up to the safeway parking lot with 10 round mags, not 33 round mags.
had the brady bill been in effect, people would have tackled him after attempting to reload after his 10th round, not his 33rd.
you should be aware that there were people there, on the scene, with guns, and that did not stop the guy, right?Would you have attacked him when he paused to reload?
The first bullet is just as deadly.
Let him start shooting people with even a truckload of ammunition beltfed into his weapon, what difference does it make? If someone isnt allowed to carry a gun to stop him, he is going to continue killing people until the police get there to stop him.
The police have a hit ratio of 20%, it has been well documented. (do your own research). Now, if a person is limited to ten rounds, that means that only a couple rounds would find their mark. Trouble is, when theres more than one attacker, the person suddenly finds themselves with an empty gun, and an armed attacker.
loughner didn't buy any ammo, smarty. he took the gun and ammo from his dad, who did purchase it all legally. loughner didn;t really have the money to buy prohibited mags off the streets, either. no job.Not so much really. He would have just gotten the mag from the streets at a lower price than at the store.
Again, the pause that you so cling to, that you would tackle an armed man within, is less than a second. Think about the situation realistically.
I dont have a job, yet I have 5,000 dollars worth of weaponry. All semi automatic. Most with standard capacity mags. The two that have only 10 rounds belong to my daughter, they are .22s.loughner didn't buy any ammo, smarty. he took the gun and ammo from his dad, who did purchase it all legally. loughner didn;t really have the money to buy prohibited mags off the streets, either. no job.
if you want to think about this realistically, think about the cost of items under prohibition versus not. is cannabis more expensive in texas, under strict prohibition, or oregon, where it may as well be legal?
i just don't know where you get these delusions from.
there were armed people there, they did not want to be mistaken for the shooter if the police arrived. So, you want us to believe that when a person stops shooting people so that he can reload, an unarmed person would be able to tackle the person, and win a fight within a 1 second gap, but at the same time, you claim that people were there and armed should have been able to stop the shooter but did not?
I can go into a store, and for about 750$, buy an AK 47. I can turn around and call my dealers, and buy the same AK 47 for about 200. Likewise with handguns. My primary sidearm cost me about 650, I can get a hot one, untraceable, for 250. I can also get them faster than at the store.loughner didn't buy any ammo, smarty. he took the gun and ammo from his dad, who did purchase it all legally. loughner didn;t really have the money to buy prohibited mags off the streets, either. no job.

how many people without a job ya suppose can afford $5k worth of weapons?I dont have a job, yet I have 5,000 dollars worth of weaponry. All semi automatic. Most with standard capacity mags. The two that have only 10 rounds belong to my daughter, they are .22s.
which is a completely pointless example since there is no prohibition on gunsI can go into a store, and for about 750$, buy an AK 47.
