I feel as though we're helping you formulate a good set of counter arguments, but there is no logical rationalization to dispel fear. But if you own anything in your home worth more than $500, you're already at risk of home invasion. Hell, there's a woman in your house so there's enough of a reason for some of the sick bastards in this world to invade.

I do understand the passion, though. I don't want to get into the industry at all, but I would love to be a private breeder. Unfortunately I live in a non-medical state, so the risks posed by my desires are a bit more than yours. I would say if you set it up right, odor control and had in like in the back of the basement or somesuch, and kept your mouth shuttered, it wouldn't be a problem...but I'm not your wife.

My biggest consideration in this would be, IF you decide that you'd rather be divorced than not grow...what does that say to your child about how much you value them? I'm not trying to get on you or anything, I'm only trying to bring up logical points of reasoning and possible implications far more far-reaching than the immediate disagreement.

When I first read this thread I thought about a old ex gf of mine.
She said " when we get married, and get ready to have a child, I want you to stop smoking for a few months. I want your sperm to be pure".
I had to lol inside and say "OK".
Not sure if she was right or wrong but I wouldn't have married her in the first place.

I've seen scientific papers that showed a marked increase in sperm levels while on cannabis. Also, increased sex drive. And sexual "expertise", which is to say most people find sex more enjoyable and men tend to last longer when high.

I live and grow out of my home in a kinda ghetto bay area neighborhood, one of my greatest fears is having a home invasion over a few of my plants. Most of my grower friends live in much nicer neighborhoods and don't worry about this the same way I do. Having a kid or family would make me reconsider (or move).

Sheet no my wife helps me! When we met she didnt smoke at all, two years into our relationship she liked the smell then it led to a puff after dinner or at night if she couldnt sleep. Now its afterwork, or the breeze blew the wrong way im smoking lmao! The nice thing is she see's the plants potential as much as i do and now that ive gotten her outa that fucked up cannabis is a drug like alcohol bullshit thinking, she has come to a realization that were part of the soiltion in society not the problem. My wife is as solid as it gets! Ive been blessed! Now if she could just outgrow me id be in heaven lmao!

You say that now, but if she popped up some amazing plants that were better than yours, you'd be that odd combination of happy and jealous, then you'd try to outgrow her again...which could actually lead to some awesome plants, I encourage this.

Edit : I forgot to say, my wife probably would help, but she's killed no less than 3 cacti in her life, so I would not let her near them.

Not sure how pot could change my dna since it's not an addictive drug but I've seen enough kids come from drug/ alcohol parents that were fucked up.

I love seeing people making responsible choices regarding with whom and when to have a child. You have my respect for this. I'm not downing on people who didn't, but personally I see such decisions as a mark of maturity.

Just a little venting, I'm a 31 year old husband with a new baby. I'm a legal MMJ patient in CA. I've been passionate for cannabis for over a decade, with it growing extremely strong over the last 1-2 years. All I want to do is grow, all I think about is growing. I'm consumed by it. I finally expressed this to my wife and she shut it down without even blinking an eye. It really sucks when the person you love with all your heart won't let you pursue your dream. I have a great job, and want to grow on the side, mostly for hobby, but deep down I'd eventually love to get into the industry. Especially since it will most likely be legal here within a couple of years. Is it bad that in the back of my head I've even considered ending my marriage over this? That's how passionate for the plant I am. Anyone out there been in a similar situation?

you can't fuck a plant, and the plant won't be your partner in life. leaving your wife for a plant seems to be an excuse of some sort, otherwise you are insane.

not to mention your new kid. you're gonna ditch him to grow a plant? maybe grow up instead.
