Thanks. On Saturday I was reminded of why I went bigger than I need, I spent several hours in there changing the lights around, lst'ing, gardening and was barley cramped. With the tunes playing (love pandora) it was a great morning.

Pandora rules.

I am jealous. I have to do the Harlem Shake to get back into my grow area. If I gain 20 pounds, I won't fit back there.

Very cool man...looks like you have been going for a few weeks?
I got my first plants just over 3 weeks ago, 3 clones and 2 teenagers. Just got two more super lemon hazeWP_003110.jpg clones plus came into possession of a plant already in flower. My buddy had to shut down so lucky me, dont even know the strain lol, here is a pic of this beauty.

I would shorten the run on the filter, bring it closer to the wall separating the 5x 8'7" room from the flower room. Shorter run, makes ur fan more efficient. I think your reasoning is that u want to pull air from the far side of the room but if your secondary fans that are blowing the air around well, it's all the same

Thanks for stopping by and providing some input... Much appreciated.

i thought of that and that's why I have 2 fans on that run... I have one 424cfm fan right at the filter pushing the air and then another at the end of the run pulling the air.

Sure man,...If you need to run it that long for other reasons, do 2 things

1. Use insulated duct, the residual heat will come of that ducting and back into the room otherwise

2. Save a little dough and just use an inline assist fan from Home depot instead of another 420 on the other end,....it's overkill

I hung some 27,200 lumens (17 bulbs) of 23w 2700k CFL's inside and below the canopy. I am going to try this instead of lollipopping. My understanding is that the bottoms do not produce quality nugs because the lack of light. With this in mind I brought some lights down.

I also read in Jorge Cervantes' grow bible that lollipopping causes stress to the plant and he strongly advises against it. I read that the additional space provided to the nut sites from lollipopping the buds end up less dense from having more room to spread.... Bs, fact...I sure dont know.. I do know that there are many schools of thought on each side of the fence.

anyhow, some pics

Correct on many schools of thought. I always endorse dong your own testing to see what works best with your strains as strain I believe can have a huge impact on how effective lollipopping can be. When I do lollipop my plants, I do so slowly so that stress is not an issue. I will only take 1-2 branches or bud sites off at a time, then usually wait another couple days before I take anymore. I think some people are overly focused on "never stressing the plant" they are pretty tough fuckers, I'm saying its good for them, but I also don't think small amounts hurt as much as some people would lead you to believe. Just my 2 cents on the subject. Either way the extra lighting looks good and can only help!

I wouldn't change too much, looks great in there. Remember, there's a big difference between lollipopping and removing specific, non productive portions of the plant. As stated above, play, experiment, best way to learn.

Thanks gents.

LBH: I just checked out your topping and scrog tutorials, you are the man! Very impressive knowledge and super easy to read coherent write ups with very descriptive pictures. Well done man!

i really do want to remove some of the non productive portions of the plant as it would clean up my grow a bit.

I just found the below guide and am go g to implement at day 21 of flower...

Thanks & ur welcome Username, glad they helped :leaf:

When it comes to defoliation, you will find OODLES of info and opinions. 2 major camps. The "do it" camp and the "dont do it" camp, lol. I, personally, believe defoliation for yield is like bombing for peace or fucking for abstinence. I made those tutorials to also illustrate that you don't have to put the plant through all that if you don't want to. I'd also like to add right here that I don't claim to do it better, bigger or whatever,....I just do it my way and if I've learned anything over the years it's that there are a thousand and one ways to do it right so check the ego and just always aim for "better",...whatever that may be to you.

It still comes down to you though. You'll find that you may want to pull some low fans to let air get at a pot so it dries equally with the others......you may want to pull all the low arms another time.....pull nothing and let the tree grow standard style and another with lots of lst......all learning times and FUN!!!! This plant is very rewarding to grow and I'm not just talking about at the end of the game! It's also very forgiving so don't hesitate in getting crazy (but please don't piss on your plants, I dont care what u read....lol)

All these decisions and techniques to try are what make a grow your own so go for it. Grow 'Em Up!

Thanks for the wise words... Quoted for truth and also added to signature because I feel a little more of this kind of thinking could do RIU well...
