I live near Waterford, and recently I saw what part of the problem was. Driving down Dixie Highway, dodging potholes, I noticed several crews working on replacing all of the traffic signals. Mind you that they were all working perfectly well. They need to stop wasting the money, and apply some, wait for it...common sense to something besides law abiding firearm owners.

The main reason the roads here are shit, is because they don't make them out of the right materials. Use concrete for petes sake. It's initial cost is (temporarily) higher, but the road lasts longer. A road is supposed to be a hard solid surface, not something soft and squishy.

I say temporarily, because if they were to use concrete to fix the roads, the price would soon fall well below the cost of blacktop.

Another side effect would be the stimulation of the economy. Why? Because concrete is one of the major costs in building homes and businesses. When we build roads out of concrete, the price goes down. On the cost of a home, that takes the price of that home down by several thousand dollars. If you know anything at all about the economy, it's starts with the cost of housing, being on the average, the highest monthly payment of the citizen. Coupled with the lower costs of business translating in lower prices at the shelf, the economy gets a double shot in the arm. After a year or so, the decreased vehicle repair costs come into effect, and after 5 years, vehicle replacement costs drop, simply because the vehicles life span has been increased.

Yea us growers know the importance of good infrastructure. Better reflectors, better bulbs, better dirt, better water, better nutes, better environmental controls means less work and better buds.

Things are too good here for any real unrest. Unemployment is high for our standards, not nearly high enough for enough people to get really pissed off. Sure our roads, especially here in Michigan need to be repaired but our nations infrastructure is second to none. We have it really good here. There are somethings that bother me such as drone strikes on US citizens, the expansion of power of the executive branch, the expanded influence of business in our politics.

Have any of you noticed that on the MI Cpl applications they don't even ask about Marijuana or MMJ at all. Here's the application. It says nothing about bud at all....

That's how I interpret it.. only issue is if one has/had charges against them as detailed in the bottom of page 1, start of page 2.. #12 specifically. That's a pretty decent list, but am sure that it's a non-issue for a good 90% of the applicants in terms of obtaining CPL.

Edit: MCL 750.237 is an interesting one that would have to be looked at very carefully in terms of when one is carrying vs having smoked one.. specifically "Possessing a firearm while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or a drug" - that's free-range, and since cannabis is determined to be Schedule 1, I'm thinking that they'd not be so lenient on that even with medicinal card.

Marijuana is legal in Michigan, to the point of the MMJ laws specifying that a person cannot be denied any right or privilege, and naming licensing authorities specifically. As far as federal drug schedules go, the tenth amendment provides exemption for MMJ. That will have to go to court as a defense.

The Supreme Court ruled once already that Oregon couldn't deny a cpl to a MMJ patient. Wouldn't this ruling apply to all states at this point. I don't see how it would need to be ruled on a state by state basis. Supreme Court is the end game for our cause in regards to MMJ patients and gun rights.


Still can't figure out how this is still a schedule 1 drug now as it is. Medical benefits have been proven time and time again. What else needs to be shown? Do we need an FDA approval? What about the bud our government has been growing and providing to those "special patients" of theirs?


I just don't get why we have to keep saying this stuff over and over again!!!!

I do anyway, if I go anywhere near a few places in Michigan known for crime I'll have three pieces on me.. will have the 9mm, the .45, and the .38 snub - if not, I carry one.. it's an extension of me, and only comes off to sleep or shower.

I carry one.. unless PTSD kicks in with uber-paranoia about settings I can't control, or don't know anyone there that I can trust with my life. At that point, I'd carry 3 - tis part of the background and at the end of the day, push comes to shove.. would rather be tried by twelve than carried by six.
