when did any body present anything as a fact ? your talking about conversations you've had before? every convo about religious faith is the same.. you say the same thing and we come along and say the same thing, that we don't have to prove shit. ya'll say religious people are insecure.. yet then say we think we know everything and we're the shit.. religion is based on faith.. something that man kind needs to survive.. I hear the same thing over and over "im open to being proven wrong" that's idiotic, when you know nobody can prove it or disprove it, there simply is no physical evidence as some may have stated.. only personal accounts.. I don't understand why an atheist would bother debate with a Christian or person with spirtual beliefs of a higher being.. honestly.. if you've never spoken to the universe in a time of crisis your inhuman.

I have no desire to control what is in other people's minds. Fundamentally I do not care if someone has faith or not. The problem is that sooner or later, as history shows, people of faith will decide you are doing something that offends that faith. My faith says you can not be atheist. My faith says you can not be homosexual. My faith says you can not have sex before marriage. My faith says you can't have an abortion. My faith says you can not learn how to read if you are female. ect ect. When someone else wants their faith to mean something to you, to govern aspects of your life, to hamper science and historic education, they are then in the position of needing to show why their faith has meaning. Faith would be no problem, and there would be very little debate, if people kept it to themselves.

i dont say religious types think they are the shit, they think they are right. anyone who believes science knows nothing is 100% for certain, only logical. religious people are supposed to convert others because they are righteous and those in need of conversion are traveling the wrong path. science enthusiasts will never try to convert you, only ask you to think logically.
man doesnt need faith to survive, science has told us exactly what the human body requires to survive.
personal accounts? do you believe personal accounts of alien abduction?
theres no evidence to prove or disprove the existence of "god". but science has a theory about the beginning of the universe based on research and facts, which i'll take over most religious explanations, based on hearsay and magic.
every person who believes there is a god that is watching them, has a "plan" for their life, listens to their prayers and is actively making a naughty or nice list (kind of ironic) must have a giant ego...

true that most people in america are profess themselves to be christian (Matthew 10:32-33) but how many actually are? you can never tell (john langworthy, vaughn reeves, like every catholic priest). also in 1963, 90% of americans claimed to be christian but in 2012 the percentage was closer to 70%. this tells me people are become independent thinkers, bad for religion. also just because americans think it, doesnt make it true. worldwide, christianity, in all its forms (which isnt fair), has about 32% of the worlds population. so when you think globally, your numbers are far fewer than you think.

also giving god all the glory takes away from yourself. i hate hearing an athlete or musician giving god the glory, because they're the ones who practiced and put the time in honing your skill, not god. religion, imo, takes away from the individual.

I think... if you are honest with yourself, you will come to find accept that this idea may be wrong. I am not saying it is certainly wrong, i am merely stating that believing with certainty in any idea that you cannot be certain of... is misguided and dishonest. For how can you be certain of an idea... if you cannot even be certain that this reality isn't just a dream or a simulation?

thats a cool video, "F-U scumbags!", that was funny. i also enjoyed that they stated and showed the difference between the two theories (h.u.p. and o.e.)
i should have been more clear. i get these ideas but when trying to relate them to my life and experiences, trying to use them to come up with an answer of "what/why is life" (which is ming boggling already) its gets difficult because theres never an unquestionable answer. the thought process becomes cyclical, no end. i hate that.
