Why use two parts when you can use just one?Try heavy16 2 part grow very affordable plus its fucking bomb!
Ok, I'm going to put in my two cents if you guys don't mind. I've just skimmed the postings after my most recent post, so forgive me if anything I say is redundant.
I wanted to give an update on my foliar feeding with DG Pro-tekt.
I've been doing foliar sprays on my veggies for a good while, and have recently started doing them on my MJ plants.
I've never had an issues before except when they were in a high N soil and I included a dose of fish emulsion in my spray (slight nutrient burn); I lowered the fish emulsion and havn't had any issues. Until now when I added Pro-tekt to the mix. I have noticed several of my leaves have developed yellow spots. I've done some reading on other sites and it seems this is a common issue when using Pro-tekt.
I'm not going to stop using Pro-Tekt yet, but I am definitely going to cut the amount down to 1/4 tsp. I've seen this recommended on this site and others.
Since it is the only new addition to my spray, I figure this must be the culprit. This morning I flushed the plants, just in case, and rinsed off all the leaves very well. Going to leave them alone for a while and just water to let them recover. It is recommended on most nutrient bottles to use a 1/4 of the root drench strength, whild a couple recommend half. I usually use full strength on my solutions that don't add significant NPK to the spray.
I will keep you guys updated if you're interested.
Also, cholrine in small doses is fine and actually good for many plants. I've been using tap water all the way through this grow and have always used it in my veggie garden and havne't noticed a problem. I did an experiment not too long ago and it looked like the tap water plants did much better than the ro water plants.
Edit, I've contacted Dyna-Gro and asked them about the yellowing. Will see what they say. Mostly it's been about nitrogen lock out... which it isn't.
There shouldn't be a problem mixing them as they all use the same salts. To be safe, mix your nutes with water, pour some into a jar and see if there is any precipitation. Can someone tell me if its ok to mix Big Bud and Overdrive as well as Bud Canady with Dyna-Gro???? just wondering if it will be ok? I have been using Dyna Gro for over a year now it rocks but i have a bunch of A/N nutes kicking around so i was thinking i would use some of the stuff up if it mixes ok with Dyna?????
So what was the verdict? Does Foliage Pro make bigger buds or yield more than the Grow?homebrewer has an excellent thread going at Riddle3m. Yesterday he posted photos showing exclusive use of Grow on one clone ready for harvest, Foliage Pro on the other. Damn impressive!
I've been preaching the merits of DG for 15 years at these growing sites and been flamed every which way but Sunday by ignorant MJ nerds who are/were sucker bets for the cannabis specific shysters.
Uncle Ben
maybe because a 2 part has much more nitrate n than a 1 part maybe? Why use two parts when you can use just one?
You do know that nitrate isn't the only acceptable source of N, right?maybe because a 2 part has much more nitrate n than a 1 part maybe?
Yes...........You do know that nitrate isn't the only acceptable source of N, right?
haha... that's about right.MJ growing is an interesting hobby. For the most part... It's botany by people who have no interest in botany.
I took the liberty of posting HB's photos - https://www.rollitup.org/advanced-marijuana-cultivation/267989-uncle-bens-gardening-tweeks-pointers-76.html#post9098440So what was the verdict? Does Foliage Pro make bigger buds or yield more than the Grow?
They look great either way to me. nice job HB. He grew in promix or something along those lines? Were these 2 out of others that grew under 600 watts? I have no beef whatsoever with Dyna in anything but inert grows IMO. In hydro, when its on the cool side, is where I have issues with it. I tend to need more N in those situations so I add more Cal/Mag which is all good anyways when one grows with RO water. But a good environment is what it's all about too. Again HB, Kudos.I took the liberty of posting HB's photos - https://www.rollitup.org/advanced-marijuana-cultivation/267989-uncle-bens-gardening-tweeks-pointers-76.html#post9098440
This is normal, well... I don't know if the stuff floating around in it is normal. Was it there when you purchased it or have you possibly contaminated one with the other? I have a feeling this might be what happened. You can avoid this by rinsing out your cups and droppers or whatever you use to mix the Pro-Tekt. Any droppers that go into a product should be washed before being dipped into another product. I don't think the floaties should be much concern, so don't fret.My DG Grow has crystals in the bottom and my Pro-Tekt has hundreds of specs of white shit floating in it.
Do I need new shit, or is this normal/inconsequential?
Also, just throwing this out there in case anyone else is using it... for me it seems sodium thiosulphate (popular aquarium tap water conditioner which neutralizes chloramine and turns it into ammonia) + pro-tekt = cloudy reaction.
