So far as lawyers are concerned? the thing about lawyers is that the more free a people, the more insistant they are upon preserving and excercising their rights in a free society, the more lawyers there are apt to be. This happens to be a fairly free society, being so, they need a large number of lawyers.

Finally, I know and have known a considerable number of doctors. I have yet to meet one who went through all the trouble to become a doctor solely in the interest of growing rich. They usually have altruistic motives - to help people,to relieve suffering, for the challenge to their skills. Although I am sure that some doctors are probably doctors in order only to make money, the odds are that those doctors are not particuarly good at what they do.

capped payment schemes, denied payment for treatments deemed too expensive, rationed care based solely on the insurance company's willingness to pay, and eventually nationalized healthcare which results in doctor salaries and reimbursements being limited by government regulation and fiat.

sounds like civil service to me.
