Yeah, it's been a huge success so far. 106,000 "enrollees" and 5,000,000, and another 60,000,000 next year, policies canceled. Huge, huge success!

Massachusetts' law's first year: Just 123 people signed up during the Bay State's first month of open enrollment. By contrast, 20 percent of the first year's 36,000 enrollees purchased coverage in the last month before an individual mandate penalty kicked in.

People started signing up the last minute before they had to start paying fines??? I am sure they just realized that it was awesome insurance at that point and the fine didnt matter.... LOL!!!

BTW, premiums are some of the highest in the country in Massachusetts... So much for saving the taxpayers money!! DOH!!

If you are comparing hitting "a beast of burden" to make it perform the way you want it to with the proper way to incentivize humans, you might be talking out your ass.

A stick is not needed, or "justified", when the person you are applying the stick to is behaving peacefully and their ONLY indiscretion is not obeying the whim of another that claims authority over them. If you think a stick is needed to run others lives, then YOU become the initial aggressor don't you?

You miss the part about the stick only being needed as a DEFENSIVE tool, not as a prod to be used to enforce whims of the "we" .

I am a deep student of Sociology and Anthropology. And I have a life time of managing tech workers.

I have recurring training on the mammal aspect of human behavior.. I have hired, promoted and developed, and sometimes, fired, over 100 people....yeah. Life experience in motivating all kinds of mammals, included dogs, horses, a donkey and a goat, wives, etc.

The stick is always needed and never desirable, which you can see, if eyes were open. You can't show any example where it is not needed for humans....so you say should.

Do you have a single real life, card to play here?

Of course I'm saying should, when we DO things that we should, there is peace, when we do things that we shouldn't there isn't peace. Those examples are self evident even to the most myopic.
