fail.we have a federal minimum wage, it's $5.75
Schuylarr finally got something right!fail.
2013 minimum wage.
States must at least meet the federal wage baseline of $7.25.
I see. Well if you found something you were actually good at to get your kicks maybe you would be happier bro.Upset, hell I get a kick out making you look like a fool.
And that a shame.People lost their humanity when they were told 401ks and wall st are great. Add that with the population that just sits around and bitches about stuff, but does nothing. Look at how many people will dislike Walmart, but then will shop there. It's crazy.
I think one of the last major corporations to even have a pension is Exxon.
the corporate profit numbers do NOT include the profits from franchisees, who are independant contractors.I believe that is what I said Kynes, at least that's what I implied.
From the beginning of this OP, I always contended that the individual franchises are the one that could not withstand a substantial increase in labor.
But if you average out the total amount of restaurants by the corporate profits, the numbers are relatively close to what I stated.
You are correct and that's what I stated, $5.5billion in annual corporate profits.the corporate profit numbers do NOT include the profits from franchisees, who are independant contractors.
nobody but the individual franchisee could tell you how much his margin really is, in his joint.
and thats info he would only share with his accountant and the IRS.
Wiki states that McDonalds Corporate makes about $5.5billion in annual profits.
Corporate gets a percentage from each franchise, there are currently about 34,000 McDonalds world wide with 1.8 million employees.
So that's about $162,000 per restaurant and about $3,055 per employee.
I don't see the problem here, do you?
Is making a $162,000 annual profit on a restaurant out of line to you?
Hell, I don't see anything wrong with making a $million a year on a restaurant.
Perhaps some of you have a problem with the big dollar amount or the shear number of stores in the chain, I don't know.
You know the funny part? If you asked Ray Croc (sp) about what he did for a living he would say he is in real estate. You are correct and that's what I stated, $5.5billion in annual corporate profits.
In other words, McDonalds corporate made a total of $5.5billion off it's 3,400 stores, primarily from franchise fees paid by the individual stores.
Wow, I never realized that. You know the funny part? If you asked Ray Croc (sp) about what he did for a living he would say he is in real estate.
I believe the property at each McDonalds is owned by corporate and worth billions upon billions due to the locations.
meh. new number.fail.
2013 minimum wage.

hmm i dunno about McBurger specifically but most franchise chain joints are operated by the franchisee who leases or buys the land himself. You know the funny part? If you asked Ray Croc (sp) about what he did for a living he would say he is in real estate.

says the racist tea bagger.I'm not a Republican, I'm an Independent....
Do the managers and franchise owners make Minimum wage too? If not, then you have no point.you're a small minded individual..why wouldn't it be?..working up to management then perhaps becoming franchise owner yourself? i know several mcd franchise owners who now have 5-10 sites as a result..
it was commented that no one works at mcd with the thought of moving up in the company, my answer was a true observation that there are those who do and become successful.Do the managers and franchise owners make Minimum wage too? If not, then you have no point.
Didn't they already pass the raise to $10? I know that's going to hurt pretty much everyone but Wal Mart up here. Most of our stores are locally-owned mom and pop type places with maybe 5 employees. I know that the new gun and ammo legislation is going to kill our local gun store that Wal Mart has pretty much already done in.meh. new number.
calif's minimum wage has been 8.25 for several years but it looks like its goin up again, so thats a pay cut for me.
still currently $8 (i thought it was 8.25, but i dont follow the minimum wage since i make more) but apparently they plan to jack it to $10 soon which will of course mean my wage will become just slightly above the minimum, and as a result, it will not stretch as far as it has.Didn't they already pass the raise to $10? There are some places that may warrant it, but cost of living up here is low and we're very small business heavy. I'm concerned about how this will go over.still currently $8 (i thought it was 8.25, but i dont follow the minimum wage since i make more) but apparently they plan to jack it to $10 soon which will of course mean my wage will become just slightly above the minimum, and as a result, it will not stretch as far as it has.
so my employer will have to raise MY pay commensurately, or i shall have to go find a new damned job.
fucking lefties just dont get it.
let me get this straight: do you value your worth as an employee based on the whims of the federal minimum wage?still currently $8 (i thought it was 8.25, but i dont follow the minimum wage since i make more) but apparently they plan to jack it to $10 soon which will of course mean my wage will become just slightly above the minimum, and as a result, it will not stretch as far as it has.

you are the anti-lefty. we get it.fucking lefties just dont get it.
What did you do with Buck? Can yo please keep him bound and gagged? But I still don't agree with government telling me what I can pay my hires.let me get this straight: do you value your worth as an employee based on the whims of the federal minimum wage?
you seem to make it clear that if your slightly above min wage pay rate were minimally cheapened by a marginal increase in actual min wage, you would have to go find a new gig that presumably pays you more. at least enough more to compensate for that tiny cheapening of your wages caused by a predictable raise of the federal minimum wage.
i am being kind to grant your premise, by the way. your $12 an hour gig will still pay you $12 an hour, even if min wage goes from $7.25 to $10.10, as 80% of americans want to happen. inflation will be your enemy, not the min wage going up. after all, min wage went up 41% from 2006 - 2009, but a burger only went up 15% in three years, closer to inflation than the min wage labor such an enterprise relies on.
so the real question is this: since you clearly believe your labor to be worth more, why not go out and get it now? why wait until the inevitable happens to get what you're worth?
basically, i am calling your pathetic bluff.
you are the anti-lefty. we get it.
nonetheless, move to oregon where i live. there is exceedingly little multiculturalism here, but there are plenty of asians and mexicans and chicanos and hispanics and latinos.
netflix will hire a smooth talker like you for $14 an hour, and within 6 months you will be at $16 an hour on your way to management.*
you can grow tons of weed in your backyard (lots of nice little houses to rent here for cheap) and your house (the only way to do it in the winter here) and sell it before you ever even harvest it.
the job is right here, you are worth it, you'll be pulling $20 an hour with 6% match on your 401k and healthcare bennies from day 1, you'll have a huge piece of land for cheap to do with what you wish, and i will even lend you my roto-tiller and a 6 pack.
seriously, there are properties here with acres for less than 1k a month. just pull the trigger and get your ass up here and live the dream.
