Wonder how much of that $2400 a month would be spent on those injuries you forgot to mention earlier - programs for rehab, and all the cash to support a house/food/bills/family during the 2 years hunting for work when he/she returned from duty (where all the food and beds are covered)......Yea, sounds awesome.

What's the VA again? Military service is an excellent job reference btw I know lots of jobs where that would put you above and beyond the rest of the apps....let alone the actual work trade job that most accomplish as well.
Anyhow I'm done, thanks for that salary link that kinda proved my point, maybe E1's would have been a better argument.

The military numbers only take into account RESIDENT armed forces i.e. Only those living and working WITHIN the USA.
According to the Washington Post, 307 Service members died in pretty much just Afghanistan alone in 2012.

Something tells me "shift" managers may be part of the regular payroll based on a chance conversation I had a while back with a McD's manager who claimed to be "quite comfortable" with his pay. But details were not given, so I can't honestly say for certain.
Regardless, at least there are some more detailed numbers to juggle...

we can cut down on those needless expenses and buy a few extra B1 bombers and drones, while simultaneously reducing overall expenditures on veterans benefits.

i find that dubious since the cited articles described worker payroll as 28-34% of expenses, and that cutre lil chart lists TAXES as 1% (HA HA HA HA !!)
a 22% margin after all those expenses (and a total 1% state federal and local tax burden... ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ) is ridiculously high. lemme guess you got that from a sit trying to sell you a McFranchise dincha?
the food service/restaurant business is dicey, with notoriously low margins at the best of times. and your McFranchise is NEVER gonna become the hot spot on the nightclub circuit in your town unless you live in San Luis Obispo.

Saw something saying the total in 2012 was around 2k....not sure how many total service men and women make up the military as a whole but I'm betting as a percentage logging is still more dangerous.....main point being who decides income based on danger or nobility for non-private sector jobs and why compare them to celebrity or average private sector athletes?
