What are your thoughts on a basic income?

If you have an argument you could just posit it instead of waiting for me to answer a retarded question.
Ok, like most on the left, you vilify our military industrial complex. I assert that the US cannot survive without it, do you agree?
And also believe it is no more corrupt than the rest of our government.

No. I don't agree. The "defense budget" is so bloated that it could be cut in half and the US would still out spend the entire rest of the world combined. It's just another racket.

What if those funds were put towards American manufacturing and R&D instead of the military industrial complex?

Something tells me "shift" managers may be part of the regular payroll based on a chance conversation I had a while back with a McD's manager who claimed to be "quite comfortable" with his pay. But details were not given, so I can't honestly say for certain.
Regardless, at least there are some more detailed numbers to juggle...
My knowledge of franchise operations approaches nil.

i have withheld opinion on the actual title of this thread because although i like the idea of a UBI, i had no idea how it would work or be paid for.

that seems OK on its face (at least the tax rate numbers), but it still shows no basic analysis of its effect on the budget.

i remain unconvinced of workability.

In the last three decades billions of tax dollars have been pumped into contracts AFTER it was known that the projects being funded were never going to be viable.
It's got far more to do with personal relationships within Congress than actual validity of project.

If your a Junior Senator sitting on a defence cuts panel and the most bloated and useless spending is in the area of a very powerful and influential member....
You're not going to make an enemy by doing what is economically sensible.

USA spent billons to design a zero gravity pen that would work in space.
USSR sent up cosmonauts with PENCILS.
America's extreme wealth has created a culture of 'appropriations sophistry'.

It's a form of welfare
But much of the funding ends up in the pockets of America's wealthiest citizens.

The MIC spending DOES go into American Manufacturing and R&D.
The useless starwars pogram was kept alve because too many people relied on it for jobs....
From an early stage it was an obvious dodo.

Lot of good things came out of he star wars program. But the concept itself is an impossible pipe dream for the mission it was designed to do. It was nothing more than bloated corporate welfare.

Star Wars was a strategic Ruse, that won the Cold War. The Soviets were already faking it with the asses of no-op ICBMs, faking it with their Space Shuttle, faking it with the Missile Torpedo. Faking it with the ABM Treaty.

Then we said we will also have lunar bombardment bases protected by laser satellites, nuke drones protecting those. They could not keep up the pace. They believed our bullshit, so we won. Classic Sun Tsu.

And then Clinton made massive cuts.

Oh wait he made small cuts. But at least he didn't have to cut anything else

Oh wait he cut almost everything else and gutted social security.

He cut himself shaving. He shaved the truth. He cut down, "that woman," after he cut up with her.

Typical Reps distraction technique for when they cannot answer with facts or verifiable data.

Clinton and Kennedy both slept around
Hitler remained faithful to one woman.

By your standards of leadership Hitler is the better man.
You're such fucking hypocrites

Star Wars was no ruse.
They spent billions on it and they already knew the USSR was economically doomed after the 1979 invasion of Afghanistan.

For the last ten years the USSR was desperately clinging on....
The Bulgarians sponsored a Turk to assassinate the Pope
Poland was the Western Problem, Afghanistan the Eastern.

Then Reagan took credit for an outcome that had been worked for for 40 years and inevitable since Carter was in office.

Reps always win elections on economic promises and always leave office leaving MASSIVE FORIEGN WAR DEBTS.

It was a ruse that we spent billions on. It had to look real. We knew actual Star Wars would lead to nothing but Doom. We showed what a powerhouse we were, to waste all that money on a Dream. (but, research is never wasted) It was to make it look, to this world, like we would soon have the 4th leg of Nuclear Dominance. We showed our MAD teeth and won.

Now, maybe you don't think it was important to win the Cold War. But, I do. We started it, we damn well better win it.

I am not stuck in one President or another. I have only one side. Me. USA. Fuck yeah!

This is self rule and very much a mufti-generational, Group Effort.

The bulk of the gov't debt is owed to we the people.
Yes, WE are big backers of WE. WE invest in Treasuries of all kind. Most is not Foreign Debt, so true. Another myth, I guess. And a full 25% is not foreign nor private, it is the mandatory parking of funds.

By law, all Agencies must keep operating cash, mostly in short term T-Bills.

When you call yourself a "che-ist" and in the next statement express pro-American views

When you say you're a leftist but support Malthusian views

When you denounce anarchism but sport an Orwell quote in your signature

When you take something I say out of context and agree

You're displaying your fascism clearly.
