This is what liberals buy after bitching about minimum wage.

Who'll lobby for that? Into the teeth of the creditors and other profiteers?
Exactly, no money to be made with a model like that, and since most colleges and universities are really nothing more than profit centers I just can't see it happening. So its more expense at the cost of less edumacationing.

Pretty soon the exit exams will have questions like what is 2+2, and 30% of the students will get it wrong. That might be what ASU is currently doing.

I'm jelly. Why do you waste your paid education to troll an MJ site?
No disrespect Pinworm but I just can't understand why lefties on RIU always accuse people who are financially stable and who happen to disagree with them, of wasting their time posting on the forum.
Hell, financially speaking, I could afford to spend as much time on RIU as UncleBuck if I chose to, it wouldn't affect me one bit.

The bigger question is, can those of you doing all the accusing, really afford it yourselves?

If that was a thing, before my parasitic ass staggered in here, apologies. I was honestly curious. Those same people have asked me similar questions.

"If you're so concerned with the state of things, why waste your time here, when you could be actively seeking a solution..."

I'm just curious. I was not lucky enough to have enough money to gain a "college education". It sort of blows me away when people who have the luxury of such benefits, use it to belittle people who are OBVIOUSLY dumber than them:

EXAMPLE:
If I was to debate Doc Side-show-bob, I would be eviscerated within a good 20 mins. His knowledge prevails. Like all knowledge. Not to lick the inside of his asshole or anything, it's just obvious that he has had the time and money to better his mind, and I had to keep busy flipping burgers, ya follow?

I don't want to put myself down, I'm not completely ignorant or anything, but I will never be able to stand up to someone who had the money to be able to learn..

Follow?

I did a contract gig not so long ago at a local college - adjunct instructor. I have my full sheepskin. I got paid about that in real terms. The pay per nominal "contact hour" was rather higher, but the ratio of "contact hour" to actual hour worked is one to four or five.
Were i hired full-time, the ratios would sweeten some.
That's what I was wondering. But since the other person hasn't responded, I guess it will remain as speculation.

I feel ya, but maybe there's another way to look at it.

When I went to college, it was paid for by my own hard work, my parents weren't wealthy and God knows, I was no brainiac.
My high school gpa was above average, played high school baseball and ran track but was nowhere near scholarship material neither in sports or scholastically.

Because I could not afford to attend a UC, I went to a community college for my GE and the went on to a CSU for a business major. I always looked at college as an a means to an end and nothing more.

Hell, half the big words the bear and doc use, I have to look up to follow along, call me a dummy too, but at least I'm honest with myself. But I'm alright with that because I put things in perspective and it takes me back to education being a means to an end for me.

Being a wordsmith is not or never has been an ambition of mine, I'm happy being smart enough to make a good living, take care of my family and stick a few dollars away for retirement.
But even to this day, I question whether it was more the college education or my perseverance, stubbornness and work ethic.

The OP message was pretty clear to me, many people on minimum wage waste their money on shit they can't afford.
Then bitch and complain they don't make enough money. There's a big difference between the ability to pay for something and whether you can afford it or not.
why are conservatives always so worried about other people's money?

that's why i vote instead of bitching online about how right wing redneck appalachian sister fuckers choose to spend their welfare checks.
LOL, The genius speaks.
I would doubt any Appalachian sister fucker is a republican.
Secondly, 99% of your posts are "bitching on-line" about politics.

Total fail

Appalachia is very left wing. Appalachia makes up part of GA, TN, NC, SC, VA, KY, PA, NY....

Anyway, although it is a very large area, it is thinly populated and streaches over many states.

When the democrats got the blacks hooked on government crack, they put the hillbillies on it too.

Think of Appalachia like a very white, inner city spread out over a few thousand square miles with very few buildings.

Edit- the only state whose borders are wholly within Appalachia is WV, and it has been a fairly reliable blue state, as long as the D's have a white candidate. Some debate exists that it might be shifting red, since kt has gone the past 4 electioms. Though bush won it twice, prior to that it almost always went d. If Obama hadn't made a video talking about how dumb they were, and if he were white, he would of won. Also, the driving force in the d party has not been pro labor (read coal miners unions) but yuppy lefty elitists who look down on blue collar people.

They even voted against Reagan.
