Appalachia/West Virginia is not "left wing." Let's not confuse being members of the Democratic party with being leftists. Looking specifically at West Virginia, the national Democrats are vastly out of sync with what the people believe, which is why the state is shifting after being dominated by that party for so long. Republicans are already expected to win the senate seat there in 2014, and had Joe Manchin sat out the race last time, they would have already won the other seat.

Well, I could say to you not to mistake being religious for being conservative. The Appalachian people are religious, but they also support a left labor candidate. The Dems have not been offering that lately.
That's why there is debate. Are they really turning red, or are the democrats just offering up the candidates from a different part of the tent? The democrats have a very big tent. Appalachia is libderal excethe that they are very religious. The republicans scream religion, so they steal votes, but the people of WV see themselves as democrats.
Asheville, nc likes to think of it's self as the San francisco of the south east. Hippys everywhere pan handling, carving something out of wood, and a lot of homosexuality.
It is certainly a different breed of liberalsm that one finds in Appalachia, but they aren't conservatives.

So let me get this straight. To you, because a person looks around the globe and fails to notice even one place where blacks rule the country and also maintain a decent standard of living for the people, and draw from that observation and others that blacks are not equal, that somehow such a person has an intelligence failing?
In fact, blacks can be given a fairly prosperous country and manage to completely fuck it up rather quickly. South Africa, Hati, and various former European colonies on the african continent come to mind.

You can totally put a dent in my argument by showing me a country of black folks that is a prosperous nation. Mexico is far ahead of any country composed primarily of blacks that I am aware of.

I partly agree with this. I think it's up to the individual to want to learn, but there are some institutions (Oxford, Harvard, Yale, Stanford, MIT, etc.) where leading experts tend to congregate and teach students. Not only that, but being exposed to that sort of education and developing that sort of will to want to learn lies heavily on each individuals parents during their childhood.
You can have all the will in the world and still never be exposed to the same quality of education as someone with unlimited funds
