This is what liberals buy after bitching about minimum wage.

how do you get a degree from an accredited university without funds?

bootstrap magic?

free market TROOF?

servicing 10-15 dudes per day at $20 a pop?
You don't need any money to go to school, just the ability to make a mark on a government subsidized loan.

Ah so the only way to learn is by paying an accredited university.....learn something new everyday...I just also learned that every other post of yours mentions servicing dudes....off to purchase a psyc book that might explain that....used book of course...wonder what I will learn.

I partly agree with this. I think it's up to the individual to want to learn, but there are some institutions (Oxford, Harvard, Yale, Stanford, MIT, etc.) where leading experts tend to congregate and teach students. Not only that, but being exposed to that sort of education and developing that sort of will to want to learn lies heavily on each individuals parents during their childhood.

You can have all the will in the world and still never be exposed to the same quality of education as someone with unlimited funds
All a state of mind.....you can have all the funds in the world and still never achieve the quality of education as someone with unlimited will.

Why does Buck dream of being a homosexual prostitute?

Good point.
I watch Shark Tank sometimes and am amazed at the wit of some people that came from a uneducated background.
Anyone can think and reason their way to the top.
Look at Obama.

The Bahamas
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bahamas

90% black, third richest country in the americas.
I first want to say that I over stated some things. Alcohol tends to do that. I do, however stand by my statement, only saying that I wish I had worded some things differently. I tend to say my most offensive things when I drink.

The Bahamas are an interesting case, but they are not the third riches country in the Americas, the wealth per GDP is third highest. A distinction without a difference perhaps. However, they are a democratic society, a member of the commonwealth of nations, and blacks have been electing their own kind there since they gained full independence in the 1970's.

One would think that with that much tourist money coming in, and with such a small population, that the average Bahamian ought to have a fairly decent life.
In New Providence, where over 85 per cent of the Bahamian populace resides, affordable and suitable residential land is off the chart for many. The cheapest lots used to be available in the Nassau Village Subdivision and “in the back of the bush.” Today, even in those areas the smallest plot of land goes for B$75,000 or more. God help you if your lawyer fails to conduct a proper title search.

#Yes, one with the means might still be able to access a residential lot in one of the suburbs or in a gated community but even then one should expect to pay in excess of B$150,000 and monthly maintenance fees. The average Bahamian earns around B$20-40,000 per year. With that sort of income you are able to appreciate that land ownership is beyond the reach of 80 per cent or more of ordinary Bahamians. The results? Land ownership is restricted while income continues a downward trend.

#The bulk of residents in New Providence are obliged to rent or lease property in the traditional inner city areas and live in literal hovels. The environment is, in most cases, nasty and downright uninhabitable. Large numbers of children are being reared in these areas which are breeding grounds and incubators for criminal and anti-social behaviour.

#Garbage collection; the cleansing of streets and even baiting for rodents and spraying for bugs are fast becoming the exception rather than the rule. As a direct result, people are getting sick and neighbourhoods are looking less than desirable. The political classes all seek to represent areas in which they do not live so they really don’t feel the plight of the masses and, in some cases, could care less.

#It is regrettable that the average Bahamian seems to be devoid of an overall plan for his or her life so long as one is able to eke out a meager existence; have a little sex on the side and catch the occasional three or four balls. The congestion here in New Providence, no doubt, contributes towards the proliferation of crime. *

#The disparity in income levels and the non education of an entire generation of Bahamian youth has seen the growth of drug houses; drug dealers; web shops and liquor stores all over the place. Teenage and indiscriminate pregnancies is yet another growth industry. Young boys and males, like some of the girls and females are obliged to prostitute themselves to make a fist full of dollars.

Apparently you have never been to the Bahamas, dr k. It's a shit hole. Yeah, there is a lot of money being taken in, apparently it is being wasted on god knows what.

The Bahamas do not meet the criteria.

In fact, it further reinforces my point. Blacks in a country that is poor have an excuse, blacks in the Bahamas don't have it much better than the ones in Hati.

@ Doer, I often wonder if you are not right. To a person, a black man seems just as capable as any. Sit and talk to one and they don't appear to be dumber. The world has held them down, but those practies have ended, and has been reaching out a hand up ever since.

Since black countries were given independence after ww2, I really can't think of any that prosper, even the Bahamas, where it seems so easy with a booming tourism sector of the economy. In that time India and china have become world powers. India was a colony like africa, and china was forced, by war, to become opium addicts, then fought a civil war that destroyed the nation, then occupied and raped by the Japanese.

You could take all the blacks out of Africa and replace them with Chinese, and put the Africans in china. In 100 years africa would be a world power, and china would be a poor back water dependent upon foreign aid.

And again, dr. K you fail so hard with that Bahamas example it's funny.

Oxygen is free, get it before its out-of -stock.
Nothing free about oxygen. Oxidation is entropy. Even if you got out to Rob Roy, Island as a Fly Lord, something always has other ideas for your meat and the Oxygen used to produce it.

Nothing at all is free. It takes a real effort to survive breath to breath to even get Oxygen.

If anything is wrong in the USA it is our lives are so cushy we think Oxygen is free.

Ya know I really didn't mean free in a zero point sense; but free monetarily and being freely at liberty to separate it from the atmosphere.

I know. :) I was kinda thinking about that movie Total Recall. If you don't pay the rent they just shut off the O2.

But, for now it costs to get it, but it is freely available, still. I agree. For now.

The muscles in your chest had to expend energy to draw the air into your body so it could separate the oxygen to keep you alive.

Nothing is ever really free...
