    Has LED lost it's Cool?

Either way it means that 90-99% of the energy expended by the lighting system ends up having to be removed as heat by the HVAC system. Regardless of the source. Adding more light to the pile doesn't mean that it's necessarily absorbed.

    Has LED lost it's Cool?

The amount of energy that goes into fixing carbon chains is minuscule compared to the amount of 'waste' from the biological functions. The vast majority of the power radiated as light get's turned into heat as it goes through the electron transport chain. If it's not wasted outright as it...

Getting the spacing right between emitters would be the real trick. I would think that, ideally, one would want the intense 'side' light from such an emitter to land in the weaker 'center' of the emitters surrounding it and vice versa.

    Going commercial

Realistically though, if it works in a 2x4 it'll work in a 2x3. Most fixtures aren't over 3' long. Good luck @Rahz , hopefully I'll be ready to launch soon as well.

    high output led strips

I've always wanted to try one of those screens out. They seem like they would be a bit more handy with smaller plants than home made PVC screens.

    Think ive been led astray

I'm all for DIY, but not everyone knows how to run a tig with aluminum, let alone with the coordination to make it look pretty. That's pretty intense compared to the rest of the skills required for DIY lamps.

    Whats the best led?

There is no 'best' led system on the market. They all do something a bit differently based on your setup. The best emitters for horticulture purposes would be the CREE CXB line and the bridgelux vero line of cobs. Choose a company that makes use of these emitters and you won't be disappointed...

Onyx Grow Bloom vs Area 51 RW-150 Gorilla Glue #4 Grow

It would be interesting to see a 20 gallon no-till pot on one of those. I wonder how well it would work compared to just a no till pot on its own.

Greengenes707 did a run with the blumat. I'd say you probably couldn't go wrong with either. I may have to try making one to experiment with. Seems pretty simple in principle.
