Drain to waste deep water culture

Never claimed it wasn't less efficient. It still waste more water and nutes than a recirculating system. I just don't care. To me, giving them fresh nutes every time allows more control over the root zone and pH. It also alleviates unbalanced nutrient ratios in a reservoir. I've thought about...

Drain to waste deep water culture

This is why drain to waste really isn't that wasteful. Once you realize that you can/should feed far less then what is often recommended the "waste" part isn't bad. Now if someone were to feed what the manufacturer recommends you would use up quite a few nutes. Same with the additives. Most...

EXTRA GLASS LOSS OR GAIN LUMENS

@ttystikk is right. The glass alone is one thing but if you don't keep the glass clean your output suffers considerably more.

EXTRA GLASS LOSS OR GAIN LUMENS

You lose something like 5% for every piece of glass the light passes through. And yes, the bulb counts as one also. So you now have 3 layers. If you have to air cool then you have to do what you have to do. Its not much of a loss but it does take away from bulb performance.

    Bud blood

Why don't you read the bottle? I mean, you are pretty much getting a general census that AN sells a bunch of gimmick products to gullible people that fall for their claims. If you worship AN, and have already supposedly gotten noticeable results from it... why are you asking us how to use it?

    Hello and a question

Sounds like you answered your own question. They're only going to get bigger, especially after stretch. And its going to take a couple months to flower...

    Help! 4 weeks into flowering

For one you temps are too high for that low a humidity. According to your pic its about 90 with a humidity of about 47ish. You need to be around the orange color. You need to drop your temps or get that humidity way up. At 90 you should have humidity around 80%. Your plants close up their...

Flood and Drain threads? where are they? Thanks

I haven't used rockwool but a few times, those little starter plugs, didn't have much success with 'em and wasn't impressed. Rockwool takes to long to dry out, imo. Some have luck with it but I would use either coco, perlite or clay pebbles. Clay pebbles will require frequent cycle times, much...

Flood and Drain threads? where are they? Thanks

Flood and drain is way more forgiving than DWC. You don't have to use air pumps, you can if you want but unnecessary. Water temps aren't near as important, so no water chillers. Reservoir changes are a piece of cake compared to most DWC systems. You have to start plants with a drip ring or other...

Flood and Drain threads? where are they? Thanks

I think most everyone would prefer flood and drain over most other types of growing, if they gave it an honest shot. Its so easy and results are on par with ANY other system out there.

are my plants receiving to much light?

Since you upgraded your light and increased output by like 300%, you said you were at 150 watts, now you're at 450. If thats correct the plants having troubles may just need more food. More light means more work means more food consumption. They might be starting to cannibalize themselves do to...

400 watt HPS 400 watt MH

I still top and crop them out a little but no, I don't get crazy with it and scrog them out. I've used scrog screens in the past and they are more of a pain, for me anyways. I like to be able to move the plants, or completely remove them all-together. When one herms out or gets mites I like to...

Looking for a guide to flood tables

I have been thinking about giving a 100% perlite medium a chance. I'm thinking about putting something similar together, pretty much like a dutch bucket system in a flood table. Something I can feed faster than coco. Nice looking setup you got there. How often do you run your pump?

Looking for a guide to flood tables

Yes, seperate res for each table. At least 20 gallons. I just use totes for resservoirs but I recommend buying actual flood tables.

Looking for a guide to flood tables

6 plants on 3x3 tables. Like to veg for about a month but have also gone 12/12 from seed. Just think of it as automated watering, you can still veg small plants on flood tables in smaller pots, even solo cups, then pot them up as needed. I use a small trough flood table/rockwool gutter thing...

400 watt HPS 400 watt MH

I've been growing off and on for quite a few years. I pretty much had to teach myself through shit loads of reading how to grow. Nobody I ever knew grew weed. Back then everybody would rather cook dope. I would say I have a moderate amount of experience but no expert. The way I grow I only yield...

400 watt HPS 400 watt MH

I think the quality would benefit from from using the two together as this would allow much better spectrum. I don't know if you would see much of yield difference with only 2 400 watters and in that amount of space by using just HPS over both. I could be wrong. I am about to try out those new...

Looking for a guide to flood tables

The guys at your hydro store can show you all you need to know, not much, about flood tables and they will have the right fittings, pumps, timers and hose/tubing you need. Flood and drain is bottum feed. Pump nutrient in, let it set for a few minutes, shut pump off, it all drains back to...
