I would agree with one plant. You would need a longer veg but I strongly recommend you look into scrog. I feel that would give you the best canopy with one light. Also its very hands on, and the results are awesome.

As long as you are still in veg than you can top them with out any harmful affects. I suggest using a trellis set at the canopy level, and gently coax the tops under the trellis. I would avoid any high stress training if this is your first grow.

What medium are you using? But as I see it now I would flush it out. fresh ph'd water and a flushing solution like clearex or florikleen. Since there is already 250ppms of junk in the water I would cut back on the nutes a little.

I can't imagine why you would do that from seed. Clones yes. I think those folks have more plants.Having More smaller plants vs fewer larger plants seems to be the standing argument people have. I say if u have room for one plant let it veg out and train its growth it to get max yield

I agree with uzerneims. Although I know seed gets a little taller than clones before establishing much lateral growth. you have a height issue.
