I have a similar problem using coco with dry amendments. I don’t water daily and the top layer is very dry when I do. I found that misting the top (with a couple oz of water) gets it damp and allows the water to penetrate quickly and evenly. I keep a tiny little spray bottle handy for that...

You can hang the plant whole with all the leaves still attached….that will slow down the dry a little. Hot temps and low humidity is just the opposite of what you need. u might look into the brown paper bag in the refrigerator method….if it’s a possibility. Many have posted great results...

Also your dry and cure will make or break how the buds smell, taste and overall quality. Hang the plant in a dark space with the temps at 60F and 60%rh or as close to it as possible. My last dry the coolest I could get it was 69-70f and I was able to get my rh locked in at 60% and the buds...
